Please keep the Warrington dialect alive and use "out door" instead.
What do you call a chip shop? a chipper of course.
Padgate is Padgit
Concrete is corncrete
backwards and forwards is back and to
marbles are cullies
StElphins church is the parish church
awkward is okud
backwards is backuds

| I say every single one of those the same way. I've never really used "offy", but that's because our local beer providing shop is "t'cworp"

Marbles are called ollies in my book.
Also, real Warringtonians call the town 'Wazza'.

Look at the royal oak branch on knutsford road. There were tonnes of fans there on match days. whats that 14 matches a year...
I lived there for 20 years and can safely say too you that EVERY day and night without fail. The place is virtually dead apart from match days.'"
sorry, are you arguing against your own point here with this?

| Widnes pubs. I can almost guarantee that there will be no Wire fans in the pub I am going to.

or the "stores" as my dear old Gran used to say....
real warringtonians call each other Cock...or Cocker...an old boss of mine from Bolton had never heard it used anywhere else in the world....he'd heard of duck from Stoke but not "cock"....and was quite amazed by it....
a bloke from Latchford i know calls Lamposts "Gammies"...... which was slang for Gas light..which is obviously what a lamp post was years ago.....

No I am simply saying that the pub next too the stadium can not afford too stay open when it has the rugby on it's doorstep for 13 - 18 matches a year. But the royal oak branch has suvived and did suvive when the place was dead apart from match days.
Your sitting on a gold mine if you had that pub. whearas it has closed down. (How can a pub not suvive when it will take 90% of it's earnings on match days. And not make a profit) royal oak did.
