| Was about to say, I’ve not seen much mention of Wrench’s performance. I can see why he got the starting centre spot early in the season now. Some real magic in there. If it wasn’t for the Mamo intercepts he’d have got the MOM in my opinion.

No point in giving Mamo a 3 year deal, when Wrench is ready, or with just another year of grooming, he most definitely will be first choice.'"

Garbage. Since Mamo has had a settled centre spot his defensive capabilities have grown week on week.
The player is absolute box office.

| Mamo was surprisingly pretty decent defensively last night. When he closed down Farrell in the second half with that tackle he looked the finished article. Hopefully he can do that every week now.

With the Duckie here. He's having a good season, but a few people getting carried away with Mamo here, probably on the basis he's a personality.
Unless Matautia is an unmitigated disaster, I don't honestly think we'll notice he's gone to be honest, except for the amusing after match interviews.

| Can anyone remember which player signed for another club few years ago then asked if he could stay with us? It was granted by the other club could stay with us out of generosity. Maybe Mamo could ask Radford if he could stay with his friendy. The fans want me at Wire

Not true, his pace off the mark gives opposition defences the s, I mentioned this around the time of the Hull game, he fashions breaks and gaps that aren't there, and arguably we're still not putting on any plays for him and he's still becoming an x factor threat to the opposition.
He's also weirdly good in defence in terms of tracking back and smashing people.
He really is one of those great squad players, a talisman, if you will. (Just keep.him away from wing or fullback)
We're replacing him with a less effective player, but one that Powell thinks he can rely on.

Didnt a few people question the signing of Matautia. He can be good. But from what I read. He can have 1 or 2 good games. But then go missing for 4 or 5. I agree wrench was absolutely fantastic last night. And we look good in the centre department for the future. I feel we are going to need s balanced rotational squad. With mamo we have that player who can fit in over the wing centre or full back. It's good to have that in a starting lineup for interchangeability backup if someone gets injured where we can reshuffle. Sure. We have that with Matautia. But He could be linehams replacement which in theory. Could allow mamo to stay if he and the club wants to.

| I think the idea of signing Mata’utia is that he can cover full back, half back and centre equally well. Jack of all trades, master of none. Powell obviously likes the options it gives us.

So can Mamo to be fair. He can cover centre, fullback and wing.

I don't disagree that Mamo brings something different than what will Matautia will fetch, but I don't believe one is significantly any better or worse that it will make a huge difference to results. It's more that it may influence & be an indicator to the type of RL that Powell wants to play - reliability over unpredictable individual flair?

Matautia is more a strong runner and generally speaking strong defender. He isn't gunna snaffle an interception and storm 90 yards. He's a more consistent performer at centre than FB or half back. I'd worry about mamo defensively as a centre. Bags of pace but a little small maybe? I think Matautia is a better centre but maybe Mamo a better squad player

With regards to your thoughts that Mamo is fast but small for a centre, the same could be said for Gildart and Percival and they are both international players.
