| Quote: Gazwire "For me, Sandow was the most exciting, spontaneous, genius of a player I've watched in p and b. It's subjective, but I've watched Wire since 1987 and seen some amazing players play for us including the likes of Jonathan Davies who was just incredible for us. But Sandow had pretty much everything. He was SL player of the month for those first 3 months he performed with us from the start of that season.
Our season started to shred when he went off at Wigan with the leg strain after taking us 20 odd points up before half time, including that brilliant try where he kicked to Penny on the wing.'"
Exactly this, incredible his performance against Wigan in 20 minutes won us the game he was absolutely unplayable. However he didn't come back the same player. That was sort of him going out with a bang but we didn't know it at the time. If he stayed fit then we would probably be remembering his as one of our best ever signings instead of a flawed genius.

Could say his life started to shred from that point.
No player before or since has been that electric but it was so short lived. Such a shame.

He was an awesome player, so much talent wasted as he could of been a real success if he knuckled down for a couple more seasons over here. Unfortunately his petulance and behaviour off field got the better of him...
I still get goosebumps now thinking about that drop goal in last couple of seconds against Salford. Unreal..

File away with Richard Henare. Lightening quick until he started eating chips with mayonnaise and having a very young girlfriend over here.

| Haiku as a professional was streets ahead of Sandow.

No way....You would always find Sandow at the top of a street.

I was a Sandow fan but that's a bit of an exaggeration.
Appo second half of 2003
Penny second half of 2007
Austin first half of 2019
Going further back, Langer, Henare, Davies, Blake...

Not sure that qualifies as a Haiku.

| For me, Challenge cup takes preference over Wigan game. Our first opportunity to win anything is on 24th August, so players with any niggles get rested. Expect to see a similar side as against Saints last week.

| Of course it does. A chance to play at Wembley against the most famous club in rugby league or a league fixture against pie eaters, I know which one I'd be targeting.

The league fixture is a 4pt swing and would make 2nd a hard prospect.
Going into the cc with a win over Wigan will be a boost to confidence we need. We play Wigan first so winning that game is the priority then the cc becomes priority.
Rest Hill for Cooper if fit swap Dean for patton and bring in Clark n lineham. Maybe moran gets a game n rest another forward but Bmm Sita n tasi should be playing for their cc spot. All 3 have shown glimpses of improvement so fingers crossed they are descovering some form at the right time.
