| Patton is garbage
Everyone can have their opinion and I have mine. The "one of our own" community can keep their views. He's simply can't handle pressure and isn't good enough. That kick on the 2nd tackle was just outrageous.
I'm not blaming Patton for us losing. Our overall mentality cost us and Price needs to shoulder that.
Saints are the best side in the league. No doubt.
We still, as a club, new coach or old cannot shake this ability to bottle these games.

| Better side won, no problem with that,
[size=200BUT[/size
WTF were the officials playing at, with that first "try". 6 feet forward, at least..
Again, I go back to my earlier comment. Anonymous half backs. Patton might as well not be there, for ball in hand work.
Simple thing is, we're carrying too many passengers. Tasi,BMM, Akuala, aren't doing enough, week in, week out. Patton will NEVER be the answer.
2 points lost, but I have no fear we can beat Sts, when it REALLY matters

Absolutely astonished at Stuart Cummings trying to claim it went backwards, even for him that was special

First half our pack dominated second the table was turned.
I rate Thompson think he's going to be a top player whils philbin is a bench prop I don't know how ppl can make comparisons.
Dissapointed to lose the game but think that we have the beating of them if we only manage it once I'll settle for october
Tonight was a very good watch. It was played with the intensity if a final. Saints just edged it. Need to improve our fitness and composure if we're to get the better of saints.

The end score is accurate and proportionate to the difference between the two sides (at this point)

| In all seriousness I thought Austin was really disappoint tonight, absolutely anonymous.
Fages and Lomax weren’t at their best but didn’t stop taking it to the line all night whilst Austin hid in the shadows.
Show pony.

| Austin not been on it for a few games now but he only needs a couple of flashes in a game to turn things around, that's just much harder against a side like Saints. You would have him in your side in a heartbeat and don't pretend otherwise.

Too personal matey. Definitely not worth a "Patton is Garbage" comment.
It says more about you than your knowledge and feeling for the game.
Love the Wire ... the forward pass changed the game totally.

| This is a forum of opinions. If your put out by the direct criticism of Patton or the word garbage then that's not really my concern.
This isn't a personal attack. I don't know Patton. It's my assessment of his rugby performance and capabilities not just from tonight but throughout his Warrington career.
You don't need to have been a fully fledged player or coach to see that he is a weak link in the side in such a crucial position.

No we wouldn’t . He’s not a patch on Jlo and he’s 3 times the wage.

| Personally I've seen Patton play one good game for us, when we won the shield at Hull. Aside from that, I really run out of nice things to say. The fact that Austin was equally anonymous tonight is what worries me.

| Side note: why were our sister-sleeping-with neighbours singing 'Austin's going home'? Just because we sang it about Barba when it was true? They really are dense creatures. As if he's not rubbing his hands together at the prospect of teaming up with Widdop.

| May be harsh to say garbage but it’s true. He’s not close to the standard required at this level.
It’s easy to criticise Austin but it’s pretty difficult when he’s the only person with any creativity bar Clarke. Rashford is badly missed. Our centres are industrial but lack cutting edge. Mamo is a threat but he’s not a play making full back.

| If your about to play Warrington and you can only identify two real key danger men; Austin and Clark (+Ratchford when fit), what do you look to do? You try to completely shut down any time they have on the ball.
Any side that manages that Vs us has us countered. We have pretty much no threat or creativity elsewhere. Plenty of endeavour and quality don't get me wrong but no "spark" players. Saints nailed this in the second half.
Hopefully next year a fit Gareth Widdop will give us something else on that left edge.

| Neither of our half backs created anything tonight, nor have they for the whole season for me. Austin, when he's got a bit of room, can turn it on....but he is not a creative half back. We seem to be a team of individuals, some of whom have undoubted talent, but none who can really pull a team together. Let's hope Widdop can do that for us next year - we'll not win anything with this "team" of individuals

| Well first off, I thought it was a great game. High intensity, punishing defence and played at punishing pace in sweltering conditions.
There really wasn't much in it and in a tight game a sin binning was always gling to be stamina sappingly crucial. And don't even get.me started on the forward pass.
[iHowever[/i, our half backs fluffed their lines. aeven when we were on top our last tackle plays were woeful.
I'm not going to turn this into Patton bashing because Austin was equally culpable, and frankly he's running low on brownie points.

| There were plenty stories that Austin starts well enough but then turns in poor displays...frustrated coaches drop him.
He's not been the same since he was welcomed to SL by Hull.
It's a what if for me...one injury from getting Ratchford back into the halves...best creative half on our team...Austin can step off either foot...that's about it...lomax embarrassed Austin tonight.

| Things I learnt tonight
1. Saints can only beat us if we play with 12
2. Saints need the officials to help them onto the scoreboard against us
3. Forward passes are allowed if they're by Saints
4. Wire promotion of games is top notch
5. Saints fans still celebrate a regular season win against us as if it's a semi or a final
6. We are some way off where we need to be... which is 80 mins better than last year
7. Widdop is a great signing
8. Saints fans singing 'Austin's going home' is the lamest thing I've heard grown men chant in a stadium.
9. Thaler is a disgrace

| To be fair you had a good go but tired badly after half time and from that point onwards Thompson and Walmsley tore you a new one. Two world class players, don’t think anyone will be arguing Philbin is better now. I told you all Austin was a flat track bully ages ago and I was right, completely anonymous and just as bad as Patton tonight, who everyone knows is Championship standard. The missed forward pass was a bad call from the touch judge but so was the missed crusher from Hill and you got what you deserved for playing so negatively. Good game though.
