| Quote nottinghamtiger="nottinghamtiger"I hope they go for Richard Marshall or Andrew Henderson. There needs to be a pathway for coaches in the British game to progress.
However, more likely to be McGuire or Toovey.'"
How about Wire sign Powell from Cas, & then maybe Marshall/Henderson replace him?

| Not before time. Sad but inevitable that it has ended this way.
Thanks for the memories.
Onwards and upwards.

| Quote just_browny="just_browny"We should thank him for all nine seasons of service, including getting us a trophy and into two finals last season. I think this is the right decision, but the guy gave nine years of his life to our club and now that the decision is taken we should thank him for his efforts and the success he brought.
Greatest Warrington coach in my time watching the game by just about a million miles. Got the team playing with a confidence and style of play those of us who saw it will not forget, and transformed our status within the game (as well as our expectations, which have ultimately done for him now).
Thanks for the memories Tony.'"
Excellent post. Don't think there's too much to add.

Well said Browny. Here here to that. It is as if if we have come full circle. An under achieving talented squad needing a fresh start. Seen some of the most entertaining rugby under TS in my 35 years of watching. Shame it had to end this way but somehow inevitable.
Expansive, entertaining and successful are my modest requirements for the next guy.

| Thank you Tony. I enjoyed Wembley.
2009 with was one of the best moments of my life and to top it we won too. It wouldn't have mattered either way for me on that day. Just to get there was just the best. Goosebumps all day.

His first season FINALLY won us a trophy (huzzah) as well as receiving some spankings
2010 damned good
2011 was just RL porn for me
2012 not far behind
13 & 14 were ok
15 dismal
16 entertainment value zero despite winning LLS
17 has just seen us lurch from one disaster to another..... PATHETIC
His recruitment for the first 3years was, at times, inspirational
Since then, poor, bordering on shambling.
The signing of Agar as his assistant was his nadir, and has firmly put us where we find ourselves, now. Surely his "reputation" at other clubs should have served as a warning.
I find the timing of this a little strange, though. He re-signs a bloke in his mid 30s, and then falls on his sword. What if the new guy doesn't fancy Westwood. Odd.
He leaves with his reputation tarnished. Sad really. Best coach in my watching lifetime

| Quality human being. I'm certain he was only waiting until we were officially safe before announcing his departure. Although I think it's absolutely the right decision for him to leave, I cannot fault the way he handles himself, opposition players and coaches, very dignified.

I'm not sure that Powell would leave Cas at the moment.
However, if he did I imagine Danny Orr would take over.
