| His average gain is 7.73m. That's not bad at all.

I think Cooper Cronk did too.'"
Are you Stevo in disguise labouring a clearly inaccurate view?
All the players you mentioned were seasoned professionals who had played many games at halfback before 'filling in' occasionally due to injuries or lack of squad depth.
Hooker is a specialist position were a player needs the distribution skills of a halfback, speed, vision and crucially the ability to defend against the opposite middle six for extended periods whilst remaining an attacking threat. We have a best example in SL with Clark but if Tony Smith insists on rotating the hooker (it isn't strictly needed as shown by Roby and Houghton) we will need one on the bench and another within the three squads capable of playing at this level.
I believe we have now made an enquiry about Shaun Lunt and it is likely Dwyer is leaving due to receiving an offer from elsewhere.

| We really should be having a dabble on Waterworth. I believe he's taken a pay cut to play for Swinton (and he wouldn't have been on much at Wigan). I know Rogues rates him highly and his distribution from acting half being his main strength. I'm led to believe we went to look at him but after Morgan Smith put in a good performance against Catalans we decided to carry on as we were.....or something along those lines.

I have seen him play a few times and he always stood out to me. Good distribution, quick and a strong defender. Surprised to hear he has been released.
That leaves Gansons lad as Wigan reserve hooker and he is quite frankly awful.

So you agree. Andrew Johns played hooked at international level.
Thanks

| Just something else...I was ripped by the same 1 or 2 for saying Dodds looks likely to take up an option to stay another season!
Well I can tell you he is.
DODDS HAS AN EXTENSION!

As if that demonstrates anything, he was the greatest halfback (arguably) in the history of the game and was selected a few times at hooker due to the presence of senior players in the squad . You really are hard of understanding sometimes.
Or are you claiming Johns was really a specialist hooker?
That is like saying Ratchford is a hooker because he once played in that position. Should we bring back Chris Bridge for the role?

That really is a joke if true as the club are offloading players injured or recovering from injury due to expense even if they have been at the club for years.
How minutes did Dodds play this year?

| No I never said that.
I just said if we're short of hookers, why can't Dwyer get a game?
Any way Mark pal. You have no worries. Dwyer is staying. He is just dropped for being a bit cheeky apparently.

I'm not the person to answer that Mark.
However he's staying and before he got that freaky injury he was arguably our best prop.
All looks good for next year.
Cox looks doomed here now.

Better than Hill after about a forty minute season?
