| In other news, I've heard that we are swapping Roy Asotasi for James Graham with immediate effect to keep our 'ginge' contingent back up to full strength following Chris Riley's departure as apparently they only count as half on the cap

I've read through all the posts. Has nobody else heard that we have already made an offer for Sam?'"
I was told on Monday we had put in an offer for Tomkins but took it with a pinch of salt and now see he's being released from his contract, I would think he will be going through all offers at the moment with a leaning towards Wigan, Union see him as a bit on the small side ignoring his obvious talent.

| I cant see Pies competing with us in money. Salford yes but we are fashionable and Sam supported us as a kid.

It's going to be interesting that's for sure, It goes without saying Salford will be thereabouts but is their full back Locke on a mega deal? with Harris being well known to Sam, that could be why they were trying to unload Locke.

| BBC 5 live just gave a quote from ST.
"Wigan would be nice but it's not the only club I could go to."

| There must be a good wedge in this for NZ Warriors, surely they wouldn't just say off you go if you're homesick? Tomkins will get a good pay-out from new club plus wages as will NZW so both are happy. Question is who can deal with the big bucks required to pull this off?
I don't get why some on here are him and saying we don't need him? He is a world class back, that's something we are missing from 1-7.
I remember a while back we had a team of also-rans, we put J Davies in there and off we go. Just class added to mediocrity! We are a little better off now, but adding such class to the team will be a huge lift on and off the pitch.
Lets hope its us he chooses.

NZW are getting nothing apart from getting him off the wage bill,he isbeing released from his contract so there will be no sell on fee.

| I don't know, call it a hunch, but I always thought when Tomkins went to the NRL that he'd come back to play for us. Admittedly i thought that would be in 5+ years when he was past his best. Anyone that says we dont need him needs their heads testing.....we badly miss someone chiming into the line. Come on Sam you know you want to.

I'd rather hope Agent Higham has been out there with his shoe box, like the old days

| As I see it, it's either Warrington in RL or Union.
Pies don't have the kind of money to be a player in this other than sentiment.
