Imo if the new chairman is in anyway responsible for gagging up the club press office he wont have made a very good impression of himself at the start of his role.

Ok the club has had a policy of not talking about rumour which includes rumour that is also correct and they ruddy well know it.

This ordeal though obviously is not right, to allow this issue to smoulder, then throw paraffin over it by leaving out naming Wood in the revised line up and not to release a short statement why, considering the situation with heightened speculation, is very very poor from the club.

The club wont comment on rumours and should not comment on them, this was started on social media and moved to forums accordingly. It may be that the club could be trying to reconcile the differences IF there are any and wont comment until anything is concrete which IMO is the correct way to deal with this.

The club seem to want the public to buy in to the idea of providing bums on seats but that won't happen if the club doesn't involve fans in the plans for the coming season. The off season is arguably more important than the playing season for getting the message across to the wage paying supporters.

Specifically regarding the Wood saga I strongly disagree with you Irish.
This is no longer just rumour.
In essence it stopped being a rumour when the club deliberately left out Wood from the revised line up.
A short statement why ought to be released for this decision.

I dont understand what you think the club can say, they are not going to come out and say Woody is leaving until he signs for a new club? If they say he is not fit then this board will be awash with claims the club are lying and it seems to me they cant win either way.

Surely the club keep an eye on such matters as this, even if the rumour is untrue and a lot of fans hope it is, it could cause unrest among players,club and fans alike, we have had two small articles from the WA Guardian Wood's future in doubt plus the WG understands Wood has been omitted from the original squad, as some have already alluded to it has now been left open to further conjecture, a simple injured in training or a no truth in the rumours statement would suffice.

So if Warrington make a statement about Paul Wood, based on internet rumours, then don't Crusaders, Castleford and Featherstone all have to make statements too, to either confirm or deny signing him ? All of which is may be completely unnecessary.

Until the club is in a position that it has to say something one way or another then I think its right to say nothing, especially when the basis is "internet rumours".
