Great game, magnificent effort from both teams, well done Wires for hanging in there in the 1st half, Wigan perhaps just edged it from having the extra rest.

Season surpassed expectations, given senior players leaving, but the guys stood up well, roll on 2015.

Awesome game - by far the best of all the play off games and something that Wigan and Saints have to live up to next week.

Smith had every right to be angry with the performance at the end there. You were gifted three gilt edged chances by Wigan errors and failed to capitalise on them. You were too obsessed with the one, the best chance of scoring a drop goal is when the line is under pressure and feels vulnerable to conceeding a try. If you make it as obvious as Wire did, the other team can just compress and shoot out to stop it.

The obstruction penalty was very poor play for that level too. Absolutely no need for any dummy running in that play at all and another waste of pressure.

You did well to stay in the game first half and failed to take your chances. Another year's experience for Myler, O'Brien, Russell and particularly Ratchford and with Clarke on board I'd back you as good favourites for next year.

Can't give you an argument...but I don't think Myler will be blessing us with that experience next year.

Warrington totally blew it. Tonight was the grand final, the wait could have been over. 3 opportunities in the final 10 minutes and each one squandered.

I've posted many times on here, that I'm SICK TO DEATH of heroic defeats since SL's inception.

As well as many hammerings we took off Saints, we also had many close shaves, and there lays the problem. We rarely turn these close shaves into WINS, be it Wigan or Saints.

WE LACK KILLER INSTINCT. in the last 10 minutes tonight, we blew chance after chance. A clinical side would have won that game. You don't HAVE to go for a drop goal. The opposition think you might be aiming for the posts, let them make gaps for you to exploit.

After 4 games this season, I'd have said we'd be happy to make the top 8. But we turn it around, and we look like a team again, and we make a CC semi, and come within 3 mins of extra time in another semi.

I think we've overachieved this year.

Wood being about as much use as Telly Savallas' comb, likewise Asotasi (who's done okish since late August)
and some smashed up bodies.

I felt p1553ed off after the final whistle, only because of our own naivety. That game was there for the taking.

That's a much deeper routed problem than one coach or set of players fixes IMO. As much as I hate them you have to respect Wigan for this. Their individual players are not anything to write home about at all, yet they share the same clinical execution and refusal to lose as the Hanleys and Edwards from the past.

Why isn't it? When you look at that Wigan lineup, how many stand out as truly elite players? O'Loughlin is incredible, Burgess, Sarginson, Crosby and Bateman look top prospects, but the rest? Your squad has got weaker year on year yet you are going to be back to back champions.
