I left five minutes before the end and saw quite a few Warrington fans get on the 20.11 train at Oxford Road. They will have been at Central by 8.30 and in their houses or locals by 9pm. Well done for being a true loyal fan who stayed to the end though. I'm sure that extra five minutes was worth a three hour delay.

I was on said train and left a few minutes after the game. Got off bang on time at 2030, wandered to the looking glass for one then got the 2135 15 home with a stop at the chippy on the way.

There are direct trains to Wigan from Piccadilly and Oxford Road too, so the stations will be very busy.

In addition to the Warrington & Wigan fans at Piccadilly, they will be Everton & City fans using the station after their game at the Etihad. Even thought this game finishes before ours some will have stayed in Manchester for a drink etc so will be on the Station at a similar time to us.

Give the missus a few quid, tell her to go to the Trafford Centre..... she just has to take a few passengers on the way...

get the manchester vic train , get off at eccles , plenty of pubs , and you can get a direct tram every 15 mins

No. Stayed until the end, clapped the lads for a couple of minutes and then walked to Trafford Park.

Another alternative is to get the tram to Altrincham then get the Bennetts 37A/38. Definitely worth doing it that way if you live south of the Mersey.

Few quid? It'd be cheaper to hire a limo for the journey than let her loose in there ......

That won't work if more than about 20 people have the same idea and they can't all fit on the bus.

You mustn't have been on the Bennetts bus to Altrincham. They'd let you climb on the roof if they was full inside.
