| I've seen more good games of RL on Sky so far this season than I saw in pretty much the whole of last season. There's been some close games, there's been some onesided games - that won't change and happens in all sports.
I can't believe the amount of bitterness and self pitty on this board. Blame the play-offs, blame the league structure, blame the salary cap. Blame everything it seems except your own teams inability to win the GF. I'm sure if you had won SL last year this thread wouldn't have been created.
And did I really see someone name 'League Freak' as a credible critique of our game?

I have never understood the obcession league fans have with one sided games. Man United have been winning incredibly one sided games for years yet I don't hear complaints from their fans, or the millions of other people who watch them religiously.

| i think nearly 20 years of it, its become accepted as the status quo, even i as a non premier league football fan felt weird last year when another team, city especially won the title.
this year, it feels back to normal.

| i think if wire had won the g-f last year it would at least have given the grand final some credability ,having finished 2nd in the regular season, being pipped to the llc by one point!as for this season, personally im not too bothered about our results at present as i have learned it does not really make any diff till the back end of the season, and like other posters have stated, most teams are already resting players to keep fresh for the g-f run in,and that ,imo, have taken the edge of some games for me,its reached a point where im now not really bothered about going to games anymore, and i have been a s-t holder for more years than i care to rem!also i think we have a right to *moan* as some put it,having forked out for a s-t and end up watching meaniless early season games, also , imo,the league positons of some of the teams are false,as i think teams are not catching up with the top teams, its more like the top teams are saving there best till end of season run in to the g-f,and that for me has made the early rounds a bit pointless, from a spectators point of veiw anyway, like i say,its my own opinion, but i have to agree with the o-p,something is sadly wrong at with our game at the min.

| The mighty Wire took two extreme batterings last season at Salford and Broncos. Seems they weren't exactly busting a gut to win those two matches.

| I think the 2 batterings you are on about Brian Brady are the week before Wembley when we fielded a weakened team & the game at Salford where we fielded a weakened team. I think they were supposed to be both experimental teams as well to show how much strength in depth the Mighty Wire had but the reality on the pitch was different to what the management imagined.

| Interesting debate.
The fact that we are even discussing it tells its own story.
On another note, does anyone know what Brian Barwick has done for RL or what he is currently doing for RL?

| There are many areas of the game that we all feel can be improved but I believe it is time for all fans to get behind the game in this country and give it there support otherwise it will fade away at the expense of the NRL.

| Thats a nice sentiment Doc but im afraid the players are leaving in their droves and so to are the fans.
The game, in its current format, is a joke.
Whats the last signing to SL that got you excited? Matt King? Adrian Morley?
When did anyone last see a really big hit or decent biff?
When did you last see 2 teams rip in to each other leaving nothing in the tank?

I agree
I'm thinking though that the pain of losing is less than it used to be.
