Ego, started off quite well. Don't rate it any more. I assume the Italian in Culcheth is Sopranos, to describe it as average would be kind. |

I have always found the service hideously slow and surly in Ego. We are going there for a Christmas party night thing. Not especially looking forward to that.

Only made the solitary visit, on a work type thing. Menu was pretty good, quite interesting. Service was reasonably okay. |

Can't give you a personal recommendation, as I have never eaten Italian in Manchester, but a mate swears by San Carlo. It is located down the side of Kendals. Ten minute walk from Oxford Road or Deansgate. |

Fairymuff. Might seem a bit mad but I'm a real fan of American style food (not TGIs or anything like that), generally places where you can get a good burger/steak and a good milkshake. My 'piece' loves nothing more than having a steak and 'fries' when we go out for food, but I really can't stand the places like TGIs or the Exchange bar and grill. Anywhere in Warrington you know of that offers the Jack Rabbit Slim's experience? |

One of the best places for a steak in manchester is grill on the alley just off deansgate, had a T bone and was one of the best steaks ive ever had. Even better than gauchos. |

Ive been before and its really nice. I knew one of the junior chefs there, he cooked my tea all the way through uni and it was a treat! |

Tried Ego in Stockton Heath last night (wasn't my choice, t'was an invite). I thought it was OK without being spectacular. The girl that serves us was really nice and got everything bang on, the food I had was decent but lacked a bit of flavour. I ended up asking for some aioli sauce in the end to add to it. I'd probably go again if I was asked, but I wouldn't recommend it as a great restaurant, it's only decent IMO, but I don't have much experience in the restaurant scene.
