| I think the phrase "storm in a tea cup" should be uttered. I'm a West Stand season ticket holder and was in there today and saw or heard no trouble. The only thing I knew was when the South Stand fans started cheering and waving at the West Stand and then I got a load of texts asking me why it was "all kicking off" in the West. I wasn't aware of anything and we all went down to the bar and toilets in the concourse and saw nothing. At the end of the game we waited by the exit for a friend and all the Rovers fans filed out in good order and spirits, without the merest hint of animoisty. That said, there were about 6 police cars and two paddy wagons outside the West after the game, so clearly, something had happened.
I have been in the West for every one of Rovers' visits to the HJ since they were promoted and have never seen a sniff of trouble; and if something happened today, it was a little bit of nothing and people should give it no credibility. Rovers fans are all right and support their team well and in good numbers.

| Just remember some of our fans fought with each other at Wembley, not good for any team to have associated with their club

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |

| "I also believe the 'stewards', I use the term loosely because they are absolute dire at handling a situation. For what it's worth, I frequent Warrington Town Centre on a regular basis and it's the same boneheads that deal with incidents in town horrifically that do the stewarding at games are taking the same stance because of said incidents and their heavy handed approach towards innocent people in the crowd today were appauling, it's obvious with a large police/steward presence in a crowd is going to cause tension, why the need for so many numbers?"
Funny that as the security firm that Warrington Wolves engaged to handle incidents when "force" is needed do not actually work the doors in Warrington. This is done specifically so that any town centre problems are not brought to the game and vice-versa. As for the heaving police presence, I think it was initially ZERO officers rising to THREE. The reason that the security firm go into the crowd in number is that the incident has got to the stage that a large number of security personnel are needed to deal with the situation. Ever wonder why this particular group of security staff (not stewards...they are a completely different group of people) are only involved when its gots heated> COZ ITS THEIR JOB!!!
"And surely your not so naive to think that Warrington fans situated in the away stand, and I don't mind a small pocket but quite a number, had nothing to do with people being thrown out? I'm all for standing with opposition supporters if they aren't their for the sole reason of winding people up."
The Warrington fans in the West stand (note the lack of the word AWAY as Warrington dont have a designated AWAY stand!!) were nowhere near the incident, were not involved in the incident and never seems to get involved in any such similar incidents with other clubs (unless you count Salford, who always like fighting themselves as well!
Like the VAST majority of the fans at the game today (Wolves&Rovers) I only wish that the clubs involved and the RFL find a way of taking care of these mindless idiots (although i did here that Cheshire constabulary "will be taking care" of some fans kicked out for incidents separate to this one).

The West stand is always used for the organisation of the kids rugby. Apart from a few games its the one location where there is the space to house 8 a number of local schools. A lot of the kids will relocate to the other stands for the game as they are season ticket holders. Secondly..... IT ISNT THE AWAY END, its just the stand (open to anybody!!) that the tickets are given to the away clubs for logistical reasons.

Fair enough, but as it's where away fans tickets are allocated, it probably would be described as Warrington's away end.
If it's because of lack of space in other ends then you can't argue with that.

I wouldn't say "lack of space" but its just must simpler to use that stand for getting the kids on and off the pitch etc. the schools usually have complimentary tickets for parents etc and in reality its normally the stand which isn't full(ish)

Got ya, I do find it odd that Wire fans would choose to go in there though, who wants to stand in an area with a worse view that is full of away fans?

There are many who love watching rugby from "behind the sticks" and dont want to do it sat in a hard plastic seat. All the way through my youth I watched the game from behind the sticks at Wilderspool, and when possible used to swap ends at half time and mix with "the visitors"

Just because you couldn't see it (were you stood towards one of the sides? If so, you probably wouldn't have had a good view of the central area towards the top). Trust me, there was plenty of fighting going on in there and quite a few thugs got dragged out.
Also, as we were queuing to get in, a crowd of HKR fans (young beered up lads) were singing abusive songs and waving had gestures at the warrington fans. No need for that kind of brainless, moronic behaviour. All needs nipping in the bud.

You're wrong there i'm afraid, there has even been picture evidence with 100% conclusive proof, it was a couple of drunken Leeds fans kicking off with Wire fans.

Happened about 30 yards from where I was
I'd never advocate violence for sports spectators, but on this occasion....the Leeds morons got what they deserved, a pasting, with one particular fat fluffer doing one of the best comedy falls (backwards, over 2 sets of seats) I've ever seen....GOLD.

| I've been away to Warrington on many many occasions - both at Wilderspool and HJ. At the HJ there are always a fair number of Wire fans in with the away fans in that stand, and, I have never seen anything other than good light hearted banter. And this is when the stand is most often packed with Wiganers.
To blame whatever happened today on the 'Presence of Wire fans in with Hull fans' is a complete farce. I'm sure this happens when any other club comes to the HJ with no issues whatsoever. It's a shame because KR fans are some of my favourite fans to chat to, they're very passionate and on the whole, very knowledgeable too. If only some of these idiots could be weeded out and banned, or just banned from buying tickets to away games in future.

We had serious incidents down Orford/Dallam about 3-4 years ago wasn't it in a match involving Hull FC NOT Hull Kingston rovers, when, 'fans', widely accepted as Hull City fans came with batons/baseball bats and what other nonsense and thuggishly kicked off with some Wire element.
Quite clearly, you believe that they wern't football fans and by this post your tarring Hull Kingston Rovers with actions made by these 'people' and a game which involved Hull FC.
I also believe the 'stewards', I use the term loosely because they are absolute dire at handling a situation. Lastly, congratulations on the win, good luck for the rest of the season.'"
Nope, I was joking as that often gets thrown about after incidents of trouble at RL games.
It's lucky there were the large numbers of stewards today to stop some of your fans knocking the hell out of each other?
On your last point, well no because it was KR fans fighting each other?
