I got mine on a 12 month contract with tesco. Pay a bit more for it but it's the only 12 month available so I can go down to a much cheaper contract after its up, or sell it for 5/600 quid on ebay and buy a newer version.

I have a Sony Ericsson W810i. It Looks like a brick had it 4 years but still surviving despite being dropped numerous times. Not fussed about an Iphone. I can text and call that will do me.

For the iPhone vs BlackBerry vs Android debate - I've had a BB for about a year and a half and absolutely hated it after about 6 months. My better half has an Android, and whilst its a good alternative, its not quite up to scratch to an iPhone.

As someone said, all down to person preference.

Press General
Press Network
Check that "Enable 3G" and "Cellular Data" are turned ON

Re Phone debate..

Depends what you want from a phone. I wanted a mini laptop and a phone in one, and use it that way. Yesterday I watched 3 full games of live football on it through Skyplayer and battery still lasted the rest of the night and in to today. I think that's pretty incredible. In fact I can do more on my iphone than I can on the laptop.

Jailbreaking it was the best thing I have done too. SSH allows wireless file transfer from PC to phone and makes the phone much more open. I guess that's only good to techy geeks like me, but I think it's awesome.
