The correct decision was a scrum to saints. Watch it again if you dont believe me.'"
I don't need to, it was perfectly clear first time round even Ray spotted it, which is as conclusive as it gets.

| Quote MrPhilb="MrPhilb"He's correct, The catalans player tocuhed the ball before it hit the ground over the touch line and then it landed on the touchline. The correct decision was a scrum to St Helens
If pelo just lets the ball go into touch then it is a scrum to the catalans, I really don't understand why he decided to touch it'"
You got a video of the incident again mate? I was sure as Pelo attempted to palm it back (stupidly) he was already over the sideline??

Both Gidley and the Catalans player (who's name escapes) took air swings at it, neither connected.
Are you saying it landed on the touchline? If so, it would have been a penalty.

Yes the ball was over the line but Pelo jumped from within the field of play and touched the ball before it bounced then it bounced on the touchline, as much as I hate thaler he made the correct call

No
The ball was kicked off and no one touched it.
The ball was in the air over the touchline - the ball is still live.
The Cats player jumped with his feet off the ground out of play and palmed it towards the field - the ball is still live.
The ball never made it back into the field of play, it bounced out of play after being made dead by the Cats player.
Scrum Saints.

1:33:10 is when the incident occurs.
I still think the ball is miles over the touchline.. and whether he's in the air or not.. the ball is dead.
Needs clearing up anyway! Not the best of rules, but I have seen it admittingly when a kick is out on the full and the player steps over the sideline and catches it.
Iffy decision to make though.

How can it be live, it is outside the field of play. That is the equivalent of kicking for touch, crossing the line, then somebody batting it back in the field of play, whilst stood outside the pitch.

I agree, it is quite daft.
Still not as bad as these 'knock-ons' every time the ball hits the deck and the ridiculous amount of un-noticed forward passes.

Because it hadnt touched the ground. Had the Catalans player managed to palm that ball back in without either himself or the ball touching the ground outside of the field of play then it would have been play on.
