Because Joey Johns will have told him that the fans over here are tremendous and get behind the players and team.
Sadly, Joey fails to tell these players about the pessimistic doomsayers that have taken over since he left.

I'd rather have Johns now, not having played for two years than Monaghan or Sullivan. If he played today, for a laugh, he'd be more effective, just with his natural ability to see a hole/runner etc.
He may need a Maradona style fake thumb though to get through the whizz test.

If it were my money we were spending, just for the hell of it, I'd get Dobson in on a 4 year contract and find the best scrum half under the age of 18 in the country.
That's a good 15 years worth of scrum half there
