Because we're near the bottom of the league. If someone makes up a rumour - like Gleeson leaving for financial reasons - people are more likely to believe it.

In the 2002 season we had these rumours:

Briers hadn't been paid for 4 weeks, so we wouldn't get a transfer fee when he signed for Widnes because we had broke his contract.

Craig Weston walked out on the club because we were behind on his wages.

The stadium was in serious jeopardy because we didn't have the finances.


What actually happened was....

We paid £60000 transfer fee for Ben Westwood
We paid £30000 transfer fee for Nat Wood
We tried to sign Neil Turley and were going to pay a fee for him, but he strung us along so pulled out of the deal.
We signed Graham Appo from Lezignan
We signing Danny Halliwell and Richie Mathers on loan

The stadium went ahead

I don't believe we have turned any corner. What I do hope, is that this the beginning of a programme of improvement that will take us to a level of consistency not seen for 20+ years.

Im not bothered. Its the truth. Just because you lot have a terminal bitterness towards us doesnt mean its the other way around. I like you style of rugby, its entertaining and expansive, plenty of offloads so I like to see that.

You're not kidding. When Youane arrived at the ground, I'd just seen the team on the big screen and told him who was playing and said the team looked the best we'd had for ages. Then when we started to play, it was obvious we were set up to attack - Clarke's passing from the floor to props steaming on to the ball, Briers and Monaghan linking up, Briers kicking well for territory. The full back and the three quarters were also much more lively.

To be fair that comment was to make the point about Bradford being poor. They were. It wasnt an irrelevant point, it was highly relevant since Bradford being THAT poor means you cant read too much into whether you have turned the corner or not. If some people on here (not saying you) are too thick to see that as a reasonable point and get the hump because its from a Saints fan then thats their problem.

No they aint. They are the truth. Sometimes they are positive and other times they arent. The problem lies with some of the brain donors on here that agree with certain points if they are made by Wire fans but then take the hump if the same point is delivered by a Saints fan.

I havent said that there not. The thread is asking if you have turned the corner and Ive answered honestly and given the same answer as many Wire fans. You simply cant tell off that match because Bradford were woefull.

I don't disagree with any of that. I was just agreeing with Lefty's suggestion that if you were a little bit less confrontational then people might not react to you quite so aggressively, telling you to f off and the like. I think sometimes the point gets lost in the delivery a bit.

As I say though - I'd be surprised if anyone snaps at the suggestion we're crap at the minute!

I think saintc does speak a lot of sense he does know his stuff,but i think
