I find it strange that people who don't like a player can't give them praise as if it may weaken their argument.

I'm nt a Monas fan, but I thought today and against Leeds he showed real glimpses of what he is capable of.

Briers played very well today, not everything came off, but some of his handling was getting back to his best, and his two kicks created tries. His defence was also much, much better than previous, and he showed effort to chase back and saved tries on more than one occasion.

I'm a fan of his, but can see why others are not, however let's give credit where it is due. Lee's challenge now is putting that amount of defensive effort in week in week out.

Briers has been turd as you put it for since he lost the captaincy it isn't just a drop in form,1 off's fair enough but Briers has had enough chances ,I just prey we have learn't our lesson with holding onto Cullen for to long i and don't make the same mistake with Briers offering him a new contract imo would be detrimental to the club !

Regardless, Bridge is doing nothing to displace Briers at stand-off. He has it, whether he wants it enough is a differfent matter.

What about giving some credit to the Hullkr fullback ......who was their best player by far yesterday ........ one kick he caught was actually kicked in between him and his winger but he raced to get to the ball and caught it on the full......

Agree that Monas had his best game in a Waire shirt for quite some time, looked very dangerous around the ruck area.
Incidentally that is one area where we could learn a few lessons from HKR.
Their pace from the play the ball was awesome yesterday and without a strong defence from Wires, (especially try-line defence, one area where you can see tangible change brought in by Mr Smith) we may well have be beaten yesterday.

i was there, i saw it with my own eyes including the full length try they scored.

I agree the Briers is the best tactical kicker in our team but that says more about the rest of the team than it says about Briers.

on the 5th tackle he seems to have a knack of kicking to the side that isn't loaded with wire players that have deliberately loaded the side waiting for the grubber.
