| The enigma…
Bullock!
What is happening with him?
Daryl Powell, Chambers and Big Sam, all seem to have/had some issue.
It’s getting silly now this shroud of mystery.

Think he just isn’t considered a first 17 player. He’s just been given a new deal so it can’t be an attitude thing or he’d be out I think. He just isn’t as good as Vaughan, Harrison, Philbin, Musgrove, Crowther and even Wood.

| Luke Yates
Guardian reporting talks at advanced stage and looks to be our ONLY 2025 signing.
Do we need more bodies in 2025? I’m happy with the squad to be honest.

| Yates is an excellent player, as others have said I'm not sure who he replaces though. But it does give more competition for places. If Drinkwater gets another year I'm not sure where it leaves us on the quota. I'm assuming Tai will go back to the NRL so we should have at least one spot available I think.

That`s exactly my stance on Yates..
Yes, he is a great defender, and in the modern game he gets in a team as a 13.
With Currie`s move to loose forward, I can`t see Yates displacing him there.
That leaves Yates playing at prop, , which I think he is too small for and no better than the props we currently have.
Lastly, Yates is a Quota Player, and it is a waste of a Quota Spot for him playing prop.

| Looking at the numbers does the tackle count include being 2nd and 3 rd man in.

As it stands now and I’m only basing this on the 1 game I have particularly watched him so can be considered unfair he does not get in our current 17.

As far as I know, all tacklers including 2nd & 3rd players in the tackle are included in all tackle stats.

| We will have a chance for a close up on Sunday hopefully he'll be doing plenty of tacking rather than busting.
My inclination is to agree with FMC re him and Philbin. I see him as an upgrade despite an improvement in Philbin's form, but I'd temper that with a comparison of their terms and the use of a quota spot.

| If he is our only signing for next year i think we might keep Drinkwater and hopefully Tai.
Forwards wise we already have Max Wood, Dan Okoro, Lucas Green in the wings, with Luke thomas added back next year, So with Yates added in we aren't looking bad.
yates Might rotate with Currie at 13 next year, keeps them both fresh and avoids burnout. We'd be swapping a high work rate player for a high work rate player, so we wouldn't have a dip in energy and impact once Currie is subbed.
Might not be the plan that at all but would be welcome

if you're not not getting a 6'4 18 stone monster, you're getting a 5'10 squat person, then you want him to be better than your current 5'10 middle, he's a lot better in defence than philbin, he's been pretty highly rated since coming over here.
He's probably a much much better version of what we expected from jason clark in terms of doing a lot of mopping up.
I'm quite excited at the thought of him and Fitzgibbon defending together
