| Quote: easyWire "At the end of the day, he isn't our first choice half this season, nor next. Price has decided to stick with him rather than panic buy and he has to take responsibility for that as a coach. We're second in the league and not doing too badly (plenty of room for improvement) so I'd guess Price has an argument for not rushing to replace Patton. We also have the possibility of Brown coming back in July, or using the spare cap space if needed.
The other perspective we need to take is this - last year's marquee signing probably contributed less than this year's back up half-back. Could be worse.'"
Cannot give you an argument Easy

Yeah, and Anne Widdecomb is the bookies favourite for this year's Miss World.
I think you're "over egging the pudding" somewhat, duckie

So you can't see Wire winning the GF or GF and CC then?
I'm shocked Lefty

I CAN see us winning either of the finals, duckie. However, giving them the epithet [i one of the greatest sides in decades[/i is indeed [iover egging the pudding.[/i
I'd class our side, as better than workmanlike. Certainly not great.
I'd pretty much be certain that the Headingly faithfulll WONT be classing the Leeds GF winning side of 17 being great, when they were playing middle 8 rugby either side of it. There's more to life than JUST winning.
Whatever floats people's boats, I suppose

The greatest teams in decades, not necessarily being Warrington, I gather?

I guess he just means from a Warrington perspective.
If we win the Grand Final this year, then Patton would have won more championships in a Warrington jersey than Briers, Wood, Langer, Mackey, Gregory, Woods, Kelly and Murphy put together.
Also if you are just thinking of a Warrington perspective, Patton is the greatest halfback to have come out of the Academy system in a generation. When was the last time we produced a better halfback?

| Watch Patton in minute 70-72 of the Wigan cup game. We get the full range of his offering a wandering run to nowhere and a pass to no-one. When we were in their 20 and needing to score. Inept is putting it kindly.

| You obviously missed the superb cut out pass to put Ryan Atkins in for his try!

Did he run over your cat? I think if one is going to criticise mistakes one should also give credit where it is due.

| I thought he had a good game today, best game i've seen him play this year. But as always people will still bash him and only focus on any little mistake or wrong decision he makes.

It's been said. Pattons pass to Atkins was top draw.
So he switched off for 1 minute.
Chill out. Job done.

| Wow... Look Patten isn't a world beater by any means but he easily outplayed Austin today... His passing was miles sharper he was a direct assist for a superb try. Austin once ran up his own and then asked patten to take a hit up.... Austin was pure e again today... Of all days today is not one to single out Patten as being woeful.

| I think the reason Austin was quiet today was partly tactical. A few times it looked like we were about to pass to him and instead made a cut out ball. I think Price wanted Wigan to play into our hands by assuming Austin was to be the heart of everything. It worked for the Atkins try anyway didn’t it?
