| If this true then I hope we got a replacement coming in. Patton is not the answer.

I agree. He's good to keep as a utility player - replacement hooker, back up half back for injuries in a game, not first choice for either.
Roberts has been fine, but not great. Would be good for him to stay, but won't be massively missed. If he had the desire to play for us like Nat Wood did, then he would be amazing, but he looks uninterested for 70% of the game, going through the motions, and pretty unhappy imo.
I guess we will see both him and potentially Brown need replacing before very long, so hopefully that isn't with Patton and Eastmond! I think if it's with Eastmond and another quality half back then that would be OK, but not those two together!

| Is it just me that doesnt get this Eastmond hype? Yeah he has quick feet and was pretty rapid before his move to Union. However, I didn't see much in him at half back when he played there at Saints, and i certainly don't think he is the answer at half back for Warrington going forward. I'm not sure who we need, or who is available, however for me, he isn't the answer.
Roberts isnt interested, simple as that, and we have all give him time to try and adjust and fit in, but it just isn't happening. Let him go now and put in a cheeky bid for Matty Smith (who i dont rate either, but everywhere he goes he seems to do a job) and lets concentrate on getting in a top class stand off for next year when Brown will (probably) retire.
Just my thoughts anyway.....

| Homesick? Where do we find these delicate flowers? Anyway for the alleged £ he doesn't deliver enough to make me overly distraught at him going.
To be honest it's a blessing as we now have lot of spare cash to find a real top halfback.

Agreed, although halfs are always thin on the ground, so finding a replacement wont be easy / cheap.

Well we have wealthy owners and a sound business don't we so let's break the bank. Still only count as 1 marquee space even if we pay £0.5M per year.

| Although I dislike him, "Ratboy" would have been a good replacement.

| Whoever we recruit, I would explain to them in advance that
1. The NW of England is a dump but there are some OK'ish parts to live.
2. The British Isles boasts appalling weather (not an issue if they suffer from erythropoietic protoporphyria)
3. England is steeped in tradition, culture and a rich history. This will be a shock for an Australian.
4. Casual misogyny is not in fashion at the moment.
5. There are beaches at Southport and New Brighton but keep expectations modest.

Amen to that, brother.
What’s even more worrying, is that Brown (especially) and Roberts are sound defensively. Eastmond’s been playing centre in Union, and I’m pretty sure his defence isn’t going to be anywhere near that of Brown.
All I can say is Eastmond had better damn well score two tries for every one he lets in...
Why can’t we just pay a hefty fee and salary for an out and out RL half back?

No question
No question about it.
However he said he'll be at Catalans whether they got relegated or not.

No, I don't see him as a SL half back either.

| I do. He's like another Ratchford or Tomkins with some Sandow and Albert Kelky in him.
He'd be at home anywhere in the spine.
I for one can't wait...if I have any reservations at all, it's that we could become a team reliant upon him like Sandow and Briers.
I hope we get another top spine player to have depth.
