First time Wardle knocks on this site will implode under the weight of people declaring they always said King was the next Phil Blake.

I like the clear out more and more and although the season is a total write off we are looking a lot stronger for next year'"
No one likes to see a few good players from the past leave the club in these circumstances, but I agree with you. What we've tried for the last few years hasn't worked. The goal was a grand final success, not just to plod along doing a bit better than the average team.
What we're seeing now is what we've been asking for at the back end of every season, a big shake-up. And we've got a massive one. At least we know the players coming have been signed knowing what's expected of them by Powell, there will be no upset egos. A fresh start for these players is good for them [iand[/i for us.

| Quote CW8="CW8"Powell is certainly being ruthless with the clear out. Better than a slow and painful transition that lasts 3 years though IMO. The fans wouldn't have the patience for that at all.'"
He’s got nothing to lose.
If you don’t buy in to what he’s doing and you want to bend the rules then you are out.
Nothing wrong with that

That would make sense.
Widdop will definitely be off. I thought he'd be retiring and going home, but it seems Wakefield are rumoured to be in for him. It's weird to think he came here at 31 with the goal of playing in a final at Old Trafford. Shows just how wrong the last few years went.

I agree, this year has been awful its becoming more and more clear why and the player power is being dissolved. Its what we all wanted as was mentioned earlier.
Glad we are seeing some good players coming in too, maybe by the end of the season the green shoots will become much more noticeable. Mikaele, amor, Wardle all have no baggage and put us in a better position to end the season well IMO.
Did anyone notice KFP looking glum at the end of the match alone in the stands? Wonder why that was, doesn't he like us winning or something?

| Powell has said long-term Wrench will be centre
Thewlis will be FB long-term
Short term, Matutai to stand-off, Thewlis wing, Widdop FB and Ratchford either bench or squad seems fine to me.
Matutia actually looked to have a decent kicking game and Ratchford has lost the spark that allowed him to slip tackles.
As for King, always sad to see a youth product go, but you can't hang onto them through sentimentality if they cease to perform.

| Quote easyWire="easyWire"I assume Powell plans to use Mata'utia at half-back, with Wrench and Wardle isn the centres. Where to use Ratchford seems to be the issue now.'"
Whilst I'm unsure about Mata'utia to HB it's certainly an option. What I do agree with is that this move does highlight the where to play Ratchford question and to the same extent Widdop, although that's probably eased with Charnley out of contention
Right side Wrench and Thewlis backed up by Holmes (who I thought had one of his better games in defence). Left side Ashton, Wardle and Currie with FB Widdop/Ratchford
I suppose it stops the King to Second Row debate

Surely that means Powell expects this to be made permanent. Maybe it's just a case of the agents waiting to agree terms.

| Quote just_browny="just_browny"I don't know how much credence to give this, but if there's any truth in it I will be furious.
It is easy to want to bin King off because his form has been bad, but with the right coaching and mentoring (which he would get from Watson) he will be running around Super League scoring and creating tries for the rest of this decade.
I know he us a Yorkshire lad but he has come through our youth system. We should be angry to see young players from our system playing Super League at other clubs - O'Brien, Livett, George King could all do a job in our current squad.'"
Both Kings were from the Huddersfield academy and we lost them to you a few years ago . He is coming home . Probably a good buy if business for both teams . Two unhappy players at the current clubs with a chance to shine or sulk at new clubs

According to the BBC, 'arrangement to be reviewed at the end of the season'.

| I wonder whether we could see Ratchford playing at 13 (as he's done once before)? His ability to cover so many positions certaily makes him a great player to have on the bench,
