| Give some credit - Well played Swinton.
Stuart Littler seems to be doing a fine job.
They showed some great shape, had some assured handling and werent afraid to give it a go.
Some decent breaks too.
If they'd improved their last tackle plays by being more orthodox - decent kick - they may have been able to build some pressure.
In the end they had too much defending to do, but impressive fitness levels. They only dropped a bit in the last 10 minutes resulting in the Ashton and Walker tries.
Unlike some (And I'm not saying they are wrong), an avalanche type win would be expected. Difficult for Wire to impress.
Left side looked good even though no Widdop.
I'm not sure if the attitude was right, but can't point my finger to any particular player.
The team made some decent meters after contact, but theyll struggle against SL opposition.
I'm actually looking forward to the next 3 or 4 weeks as they are tough.
This will be the big test.
It's about decent performances and SP keeping his job or not.
(Stil want Hendo to be given a chance assuming he doesn't go to Cas in the meantime).

| Really poor is the politest comment I can make.
I agree with the above post about Mat Davis, he is not my favourite player but I thought he was really good today. On the other hand Charnley was .....'not really good'. I wonder if Price picked up any good moves from Swinton that we could use ?

| How was the Our league App coverage, today? I was put off by the Bradford v Sheffield game only getting sorted and streamed for the second half.

Fine as it has been every time I've watched. George Riley and Tony Rea are good.

Thanks DB. I've seen some FTA games in the past, which were fine. Must a been gremlins at play at Odsal last week. I'll try to be less of a tight wad when it comes to the Hull game (but will take the offer price rather than full whack pay on the day).

| Where is the logic whereby you throw a young lad in on the first game of the season against tough opposition but then don't play him when the opportunity comes to improve his confidence and show what he can do?
As for Thewlis, don't get me started. If I was Powell I'd be emailing the likes of Wrench, Dean, Doro etc. and telling them to sit tight, keep your heads up and things will improve soon.

Price always does things about face.
Against a big aggressive fast flowing Cas team he starts Danny Walker over Clark and puts Ashton on the bench with only 2 forwards.
Then against a smaller Championship level pack in Leigh he starts Clark and completely omits Ashton and goes with an extra prop. Bizarre.

Overall I've enjoyed Charnley's time at the Wire and I know that we are left side centric as far as attack is concerned but what the hell is he playing at?
Swinton's try was a bit of a dubious grounding I thought the lad spilled it but they probably deserved their bit of good fortune and they won't be the only ones fancying their chances down that side.

Did anybody else pick up their comment about watching GI doing a fitness test on the field before the Chris Hill testimonial game? I can’t remember which one of them said it but it was along the lines of him ‘being several weeks away from looking fit enough to play’.

I think the coverage was good. Will use again.

It is strange because Charnley has been a consistently good performer for us, but his lack of pace is now starting to show and combined with the number of dumb errors he has made to date he is not doing himself any favours, especially at his tender age.

| You can't take anything from Swinton's excellent effort today.
I was very disappointed with our handling skills today & we still have this habit of throwing wild passes to nobody in particular. I live in hope that there is a master plan in place whereby all our handling skills & ability to score on our right hand side. actually make an appearance sometime this season.
