Have you had a drink? It’s an unusual time to be trolling, with Widnes’ current predicament. I actually sympathise with Widnes... they’ve trodden carefully and managed to stay up without huge losses and not gone on some ridiculous unaffordable spending spree just to get a trophy, only to go bust (like the Widnes of the 80s). That doesn’t deserve to be rewarded with a drop to a lower division and possibly the start of the downward spiral to being defunct.
There is probably some value in the idea of buying Widnes and having them in the championship as a wholly-owned dual reg club. They have some good youngsters coming through and we can use the higher intensity of the championship to blood them in, as well as getting our star players back to fitness. Like a reserve team. And Widnes fans get to see some SL stars in live action, and the season ticket could be valid for both clubs, so our fans can watch our reserves and Widnes fans can watch super league. It’s a win-win for both, and helps Widnes survive as a name.

Widnes fans going on about the WCC is like Newcastle United fans living on the past glory of the Fairs Cup in 1969.
What they don't realise is that they will probably never win anything again, whereas Warrington have a chance of winning something this season.

Not strictly true this, they may win the Championship.

Pretty sure they also won the Northern Rail Cup a few years ago. We had no chance back then. Thankfully.

| You lot would love to have a World Club Challenge trophy on your honours list...but that ain't happening anytime soon.
Doesn't matter when it was, Widnes have beat the best from Down Under become World Club Champions, something Warrington have never done.
Widnes are part of the elite five English clubs to have won the World Club Challenge. Warrington aren't.

Honest question - would you swap your, near 30 year old, WCC to have a competitive team again?

He won’t answer that honestly if he even answers it all.

| It’s weird as I sort of feel sorry for Widnes fans. But the two trollls on here make me sort of want to euthanise the Widnes club again, just like we did in that crucial game in 2005. Not a good time to troll me thinks.
