GW is not on a "pay when played" contract.

I was led to believe pay per play made up his money. If you say not Gaz, that's good enough for me. I retract my TANCW confusing post. Everyone's a winner.

There is surely no such thing as a 'pay per play' contract for a full time professional player. That would mean you would be training most days and if not selected you would be without income.

A large part if his wages is made up from appearance bonuses. He is on quite a moderate salary which is enough to see him get by without playing any games, but let's just say it's very much in his interests financially to play as much as possible.

The situation is as I've said above - a below average salary in terms of his colleagues but more than enough to live comfortably, with the opportunity to earn much more depending on appearances.
