| On a side note isn't 'Manchester magic' a contradiction of terms?

No.
Besides, the decision has been taken to play the games in the North West. The best stadium, Old Trafford, is already used for the Grand Final and the World Cup Final. There no other suitable stadia outside of Manchester really, certainly no football clubs that have a ground worthy of it, and the CoM is ideal. Plus, as its council owned and ran, I assume it's easier to negotiate favourable terms.

| I'm glad it's in Manchester again because I had a really good day out there last year and I'd never had any interest in going to Magic Weekend before.
I'd rather we had another walkover V Widnes than a hard game V Saints mind.

| I've been to Murrayfield twice for The Magic Weekend and I think that having it closer for the majority of clubs is a better idea than dragging us all up to Scotland or down to Wales.

| Been to all of them and had a great time at every one. The last train back to Warrington from Manchester was an experience and a half last year. I'll certainly be there again.

It's not run by MCC, City run the stadium, it's just owned by MCC.

I disagree that old trafford is the best stadium,it may have the biggest capacity and thats it.For me its to cramped and facilites are dated.ethiad is a much nicer stadium.so id say you would have to define best.btw im not a football fan so this isnt a dig in that way.

| I hate Man United. I dislike Man City. Therefore I'm not biased in either club's favour.
Old Trafford is the best stadium I've been to in the UK by a mile.
I've been to every 50,000+ capacity stadium in the UK except Ibrox and Twickenham, and rate OT above all the others.
Don't get me wrong here, I accept it's a matter of opinion rather than fact, but I find OT hard to criticise.
City's ground is a nice facility without a doubt, but the relatively low capacity means it's by no means a super-stadium, and the fact that the stands aren't quite as on top of the pitch as they are at Old Trafford means the atmosphere isn't quite as good as the sound doesn't cascade as much. On saying all that though I do think it's the perfect venue for Magic Weekend. We don't need a 76,000 capacity for that, and the decent facilities at Eastlands combined with Manchester's relatively central location in RL heartland makes it ideal.

| Surely Millenium Stadium and Wembley both confortably beat Old Trafford? Every time I have been to OT the place has disappointed me. Cramped and lacking in space overall.

| I was specifically referring to North West, in that sense there's no contest. Wembley or Millennium are in the conversation for best in UK but that's about it.
As for the Ethiad, it's a good ground but as a venue for Magic it is ideal. Loads of space around it, loads of bars and eateries. Loved it last season and will be there again next season.
