| Quote: Live Wired "How can anybody be gutted after watching that game? It was the best game seen all season and superbly reffed. It's disappointing to lose, but 1 team had to. Leeds came with a straight forward plan of playing fast rugby, 3/4 men in every tackle and no lying on at the play the ball. Exactly the same way we have played all season.
Our problem was that we never calmed down, age old problem of trying to score off every move. I've heard and read that certain players did'nt turn up. Briers is still carrying an injury imo and Monaghan was outplayed by Buderus. My gripe is Myler, I have yet to be convinced by him, certainly not worthy of his price tag and just does not get involved enough for my liking.
Basically, Leeds had the experience of playing play-off rugby, and it showed, whereas, we have very little. Good luck to Leeds next week, but I feel that last night's game would have killed them.'"
How can you be gutted? Seriously.
Baffling to start pinging Myler, I thought Bridge stank the place out last night, Atkins wasn't much better. Briers & Monas were poor too. Myler has been superb this year, he wasn't last night, but when Monas & Briers aren't either I think it tells you more about the job they did on our halves.
I thought Riley was very good again last night, he must be devestated the season has finished just as he's found his form.

| It came down to 1 thing in the end, Leeds have massive experiance at this level over the last few years, they know how to play these games,
Experiance comes into these sort of games, You'll be back next year, most likely stronger and more determined

Couldn't agree more and I'm not going to start bagging anyone at the club after one poor game.
Credit to Leeds they came and did a job on us.

Fair play Leeds played better tonight than we did, but have this bad taste in my mouth that we won the League, yet got KO by a Team that finished 5th.
So tell me, what benefit is there for finishing 1st ???'"
Finishing top of the League is the real trophy. The play offs are really a meaningless competition and although they have been in RL for a long time they were only there because when there was only one league Division and all teams did not play each other.

| You know the thing I'm least looking forward to? It's not the taking from oppo fans, or the realisation that after a fantastic season my team came up short, I can handle all of that, it's part of being a fan of any team in any sport .... no, the thing I'm least looking forward to is defending the playoff format to my colleagues in work on Monday morning who are all football fans, and who have already told me what a joke Rugby League as a sport is for organising itself in this way.
Shame really, could've brought more money in to Rugby League if I could get them to respect it.

| I am totally and wholly gutted, this was our season beyond doubt this was our season.
We have been the best team in SL this year and we got knocked out in a one off match. If we played Leeds 10 times we would win 8 draw one and lose one, last night was that one. We are a much better team than Leeds but we faced an intensity that we have not all season and perhaps our lack of play off experience meant that we were not fully prepared for the intensity that we were to face, TS can tell the lads what it will be like but they will need to have experienced it to know what to expect.
As to next season, I and you will be back cheering on the Lads because we are Wire's and we love our club and team. A massive thanks to all our players who have done us PROUD and given us our BEST EVER season.
Finally the very very best to Leeds Rhinos for next week, you deserved your victory last night and I truly hope you now win the Grand Final.

I think he has a point JWP, in 2 of our biggest games this year Richie Myler has been dissapointing, the challenge cup quarters and the grand final semi.
He's had a chance twice to show Tony Smith that he was wrong for leaving him out opf the challenge cup final squad last year and he's failed twice to make any kind of impact in both games, its when Lee Briers and Michael Monaghan are off their games or arn't playing that well that he needs to step it up and he isn't doing it when it matters.
He aint the reason we lost, far too many of our players looked lethergic last night and didn't show any spark, we panicked and showed very little composure. I was excpecting Lee Briers to be doing a lot of ranting when we started to panick very early in the game to get us composed and focused but suprisingly he was fairly quiet in that respect, that was the total opposite to Sinfield who lead Leeds really well.

| Guys, please lets not get into a player bagging session.
All the Lads did us proud this year and gave us a Season to remember.
This year we played the best RL I have ever seen by a Warrington team, and each and every played contributed to our wonderful season.

This lack of playoff experience line is a myth. According to the rlproject site where it breaks down finals appearances, Warrington's team last night have played in a combined 159 playoff games, including 10 Grand Finals...thats not to mention the Challenge Cup semis and finals that many of them have played in. Look at the names in the side you aren't talking a bunch of nervous kids who have never been in a big game before, its players who have played in State of Origin, internationals, NRL Grand Finals, Super League Grand Finals and Challenge Cup finals....
Playoff experience:
Brett Hodgson: 14 (Parramatta 4 inc. 1 GF; Wests Tigers 4 inc. 1 GF, Huddersfield 4, Warrington 2)
Joel Monaghan: 9 (Canberra 7, Warrington 2)
Matt King: 17 (Melbourne 12 inc 2 GF; Warrington 5)
Ryan Atkins: 5 (Wakefield 1, Warrington 4)
Chris Riley: 6
Lee Briers: 8
Richie Myler: 3
Adrian Morley: 27 (Leeds 8 inc. 1 GF Sydney 10 inc. 3 GF; Bradford 4 inc. 1 GF; Warrington 5)
Michael Monaghan: 14 (Canberra 3, Manly 6 inc. 1 GF, Warrington 5)
Garreth Carvell: 12 (Hull 8 inc 1 GF, Warrington 4)
Louis Anderson: 4
Simon Grix: 3
Chris Bridge: 7
Ben Westwood: 8
Jon Clarke: 5
Mike Cooper: 4
David Solomona: 13 (Sydney 3 inc. 1 GF, Parramatta 4 inc. 1 GF, Wakefield 2, Bradford 2, Warrington 4)
Earlier in the season when we lost to Huddersfield twice, and Catalans and Hull nobody said that we had lost our bottle - we just had blips where other teams were better than us on the day and that's what happened last night.
Also as Cullen liked to say, 'games are won and lost on fractions', if Briers had kicked a drop goal a few minutes earlier and Sinfield had been going for a try instead of a drop goal at the end it might have ended differently, and nobody would be talking about us not being able to deal with pressure of the playoffs, it would have been all about how Warrington can win the tight games as well as the blowouts and are unbeatable....

| At the end of the day, 10 years I'd have bitten your hand off if you'd offered us to finish top and lose narrowly in a playoffs semi. It hurts for now but it's not the end of the world, maybe we can bring back our motto, 'there's always next year'.

| Ironic that the games where we blew teams off the part might have had an impact/ reason for losing last night.
Not had enough close games where we've had to dig deep.
