| Putting the cat among the pigeons, would you still have him over Cameron Smith?

Smith just. If Monas was still in the NRL on current form, he'd probably be just behind Cam Smith for rep, or at least be a shoe in for NSW.

No. But that's like saying would I dump Mila Kunis so I could nail Cheryl Cole.

Agreed, but if she binned you off and you had to turn to Cole, you'd get on with it, wouldn't you?

| 100% agreed he should be our player of the year he's been absolutely immense all year
Whether he wins man of steel over tomkins or not may well depend on who wins the grand final i think

Hasn't the man of steel already been voted on ? Just the results haven't been announced yet ! Pretty sure it's done about 4-5 weeks before the end of the season perhaps any ex players that may come on here could inform us of when the voting takes place ?

Impossible to compare with 'older' hookers, in my youth their job was to win the ball in a scrum. I think even I could do that these days.
I remember Kevin Ashcroft being a great hooker, but how would he go on today?

| As a Hull fan I love to watch Wire play you remind me of Saints a couple of years a go and Monaghan is a quality player.

I think Michael Monaghan and James Roby are the best two players in Super League. Yes Sam Tomkins and Rangi Chase are really exciting players and can be great to watch as entertainers. But as far as actual rugby quality: metres made, passing quality, intelegence, decision making, reliability, defence, tackling, not giving penalties away, try scoring, try assists, try opportunities set up in areas exploited, generals/leadership on the pitch... Monaghan and Roby have been by far the best two players in SL this season.
But then Sean O'Loughlin was the best player in SL last season but they gave MOS to Pat Richards.

If there's one RL player i hate, it's Cameron Smith (and i had a huge rant about how STomkins gets on my wick the other day in the "Sam Tomkins" thread). He's a dirty and snide player is Smith, i've never seen a player get away with so much niggly shizzle before. He's forever dropping elbows to the face in a tackle when the attacker is on the floor, or leading with his knees to the kidneys on goal-line tackles. Don't like him, at all! Great player though, but it would be a principal thing that i'd be disappointed if he came to SL for any club.
The NSW fan's boo's directed at him every year will tell you what the NRL fans think of him!
