I'd back Tomkins in a 1 on 1 tackle situation over Hodgson, but Brett's positioning and organisational skills of the defensive line are much better. In all fairness though, Sam isn't at fullback for defensive reasons, and BH didn't win MOS 2 years ago for his try savers did he?

I'd have to agree, I would love to see Puletua at Wire although I think Peacock has done well to get back from a very serious injury, his best days are behind him. |

I think Peacock is similar to the Sinfield inclusion at the moment. Both of them have only been included because of who they are, rather than their form and quality at the moment. |

Don't the stats also say Charnley is better than Monaghan? IMO im think Hodgson is better in defence because his organisation and positioning is superb. Majority of the time he will catch the ball on the full and is secure under the high ball. Regarding 1 v 1's Both of them would get ran over by most players so is not worth debate. |

No they don't, but the fact that Sam Tomkins has missed less than 50% of the tackles that Hodgson has, despite Sam Making more tackles would suggest that Sam is the better defender.
Wigan have conceded only 14 points more than Warrington so Hodgson can't be organising his defence that much better can he? |
