Joe broke Kevin O'Loughlins jaw when playing against Wigan. You wouldn't believe that they were supposed to be mates and played together in the same Wire colts team. Not long after that Keiron O'Loughlin ( Kevins brother ) went looking for Joe in an A team game. Needless to say Joe fractured Keirons cheek bone.
Joe was a fantastic character off the field but not a bloke to be tangled with on it. |

I am petty sure that Mike Nicholas holds the dubious distinction of being sent off most times for Warrington, with a total of 9 dismisals.
Having said that, I'm with those above. Joe Price was without doubt the nastiest piece of work possible ever to set foot on a rugby field.

Danny Nutley was an absolute Pussy Cat compared to what's been mentioned earlier. I'm surprised that Kevin Tamati hasn't had much of a mention so far. Anyone remember Ken Halliwell? Ken was an old fashioned ball playing Prop who signed from either Salford or Oldham towards the end of the sixties. He could really mix it. I can remember a game at the Zoo against Rochdale. Peter Clarke (good hard Latchford Albion lad who could also fight) was up to his normal tricks as the Rochdale Hooker. The scrum broke up as the ball moved away and as Clarkey raised his head up, Ken met it with his right fist. Peter Clarke went down like a bag of sh**e, and got carried off. The Ref didn't see a thing.

Yes, he played for all three I think, he also got a few Lancs caps and was a pretty good player.
