| Imo he be inheriting a club at the top, like he did Wigan, and slowly run it down to the dregs Lam ended up with.

| I'm happy with this IF it's true, he's the coach i want so time will show if it pays off. He brings a very tough mental side to players, won't take crap and demands 100% effort all the time. He can take us to the next level i'm sure of it

I’m not a massive fan but I can’t see it was Wane that wanted all his star players sold off, that type of decision comes from the top. The fact that Wigan are investing in bringing players in (back) may be related to Lenegans decision to sell the club.

| Quote: NickyKiss "He’d win you a Grand Final IMO and I don’t doubt that whatsoever. He seems to be labelled as a one dimensional, aggressive up and at them and bash the hell out of them merchant but Wanes teams at Wigan could play when he was given the right attacking tools. When you’re stripped of you best attacking talent year in year out, then it becomes difficult to keep on building attacking structures but he dealt with absolutely everything that was thrown at him, picked a replacement up from the academy or in some cases on the cheap to develop them and cracked on and carried on winning.
If you guys want to win Grand Finals then there is no better man IMO. I actually think with the financial resources Wire have that he’d still have you playing some good stuff, as you wouldn’t have your squad ripped pillaged every year.'"
From what I understand he left Wigan in the end because of the financial restraints he was working to and the refusal to support his plans with the necessary finances.

Wane's last game in charge of Wigan was a Grand Final victory. If he wishes to run Warrington into the ground in a similar fashion he's more than welcome for me.
Also the "dregs" you refer to also lost the Grand Final in the last second last year.

I guess it played a pretty big part. It’s Lenagans business model to let players leave when their wage demands get too high and he’s brought in transfer fees for many players but as a coach when you have to deal with some of your best players leaving each year it can’t be easy. I think the fact Tomkins, Bateman and Sutton were going at the end of 2018 and if replaced, were being replaced with cheaper options tipped him over the edge. I must admit I thought in 2019 we’d decided to really cut back and not spend up to the cap but that then changed for 2020 and now we seem to be making moves Wane probably wanted before his exit. Maybe it’s the investment Mike Danson put up that’s made it possible but I bet Wane wished it had happened sooner (although maybe not on George Burgess).
If Wane didn’t win a Grand Final at Warrington in his time I’d be amazed. I really hope in that case that these rumours aren’t true

Rightly or wrongly I’m treating this as confirmation!

We were dire in 2019 in truth but the dregs he left still finished second in the table. As pointed out I think Wane left because he would’ve been left with a weakened squad through no choice of his own.

I haven't heard anything about replacements unlike others on here. I'd be surprised if anything is fixed yet or process started. Although the Price situation in respect of final year of contract was obviously recognised I'd imagine that the club's "decision point" on next year wasn't scheduled for at least a couple of months. Price making his own decision will have accelerated the process.
Having said that, looking at things logically you'd imagine any Aussie who was worth his salt is either gainfully employed or extremely unlikely to commit to move to the UK given current global circumstances. That would leave you with the domestic market and we would surely want somebody who is a proven winner (having said that I'd imagine Watson currently has his head in his hands cursing the timing) leaving McDermott or Wane as the option.
Given Wane's history of producing sustainable success via the academy, which is our own Holy Grail, aligned with his current role being all but redundant when we need his services and Wane's own appreciation of the Warrington club and set up it isn't hard to surmise that Wane is strong favourite to be our next coach.

| The nearest open bookies is probably Australia or NZ.

Yes, getting rid of high profile expensive loss assets like George Burgess more recently is a bigger pointer to a sell off in contrast, Tomkins being more of a cost cutting measure to balance crowd number losses and little game time return from him...
However, I never mentioned selling or buying players, that is always a Rads and Lenegan decision, as Wane said himself. Sorry I wasn’t clearer on that.
My thought process was the style of off-putting football and several off field incidents.

My advice, watch a Stanley Unwin clip on that video sharing site then re read RD's post inserting your own punctuation then you'll understand what it's all about.
