| Given that Catalans next two games are Widnes away and Huddersfield at home, then you can quite easily make a case for us being 5 points adrift by the time they come here.
Castleford away is a write off and Smith already had made good excuses for Huddersfield. The game on Sunday for me is must win, otherwise middle 8s almost a certainty

| The cynic in me is starting to think there's a commercial element to Tony keeping his job for now.
It's clear that the current position and team performance will have an impact on season ticket sales for next year. However, sacking Smith now and bringing in a stop gap will not raise any excitement, i think the damage is done this season.
So, do the board wait until our fate is cemented, with only a few games left, THEN sack Smith, build excitement for the off season by getting a new coach in when there's nothing to play for and announce few key signings in the hope that it appeals to those who may walk away should things remain as is?
Jesus, i'm starting to enter conspiracy theory mode now, things must be bad!!

LOL. I think the board maybe accepting the excuses. That's is all little things not falling into place rather than a systemic failure of team preparation and performance.

OR maybe the club HAVE lined up another replacement, but he has refused to take control until the end of this season, as he already has a club.
They are keeping Smith in charge, as the risk is if they bring in a replacement on an interim basis until the end of the season, he might go on a big winning run and put himself in the frame for a job they have already agreed to give to someone else.

| Things are not looking good with Shaun Wane at Wigan. Who will go 1st ....Smith or Wane.
Would you have Shaun Wane at Warrington?

| I suppose we're not going to win the league so no point letting Smith go.
Maybe hoping we get into Middle 8's, least we might win a few and end the season on a positive note!

Wane shows more passion than Smith for me.

Shaun must be safe surely? 4 GF appearances in last 4 years, winning 2 of them, current WCC.

It's whether you want Smith and Agar to run the rule over 2018/19 recruitment and squad now. This season has long gone.

bring someone new in now, and the entire squad might start playing like ryan atkins during contract renewal season.

| They might sack him once the split happens. Whoever takes over temporarily (Briers) can do as well as they like, it won’t count for much in the middle 8s, due to the lack of decent opposition and if they do scrape through in 8th, they’ll not do well in the super 8s as they’ve no chance of making the top 4, so the season just peters out.
Quite clear what’s going on – apathy.
10+ players with contracts running out and a head coach who’s leaving. Change is coming…

| I think He'll be sacked after the Cas Game (as a mark of respect to Paul Cullen who also resigned after a Castleford loss).
The New coach will take over for the Challenge cup game and it wont matter win or lose that one, as we'll be more concerned with being 3rd from bottom in the league by then anyway.
The cup game out of the way, we will then have 3 very good chances of getting 6 points at home, from Cat's Leigh & Widnes. All Similar poor standard bottom feeders like ourselves...... Catalan may only get 4 more points from their remaining games so we may finish above them in 8th....
ha ha look at me trying to think we might win games......
Seriously I didn't even go yesterday I'm a season ticket holder and the game was paid for and I chose (for the first time since I can remember) Not to go to a Wires home Game but spend it with my Family instead....
It wont make a difference to anyone that I didn't attend no one will notice, the club still got my Money. I didn't even listen on the radio I just checked the half time score laughed and put my phone back in pocket.....
Smith has gone past what is acceptable......
The Whole club stinks... I mean Hacking the facebook account whats that all about........an absolute shambles......

Perhaps the ex player welfare officer and card seller will be in charge of recruitment.

I don't know Fitzpatrick from Adam but I was surprised when he got the job as CEO of the 5th biggest club in Northern hemisphere Professional Rugby League without any significant prior management or executive experience.
