50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

He's been a bit up and down but I'm sure that we'll all keep in perspective that he's played about 10 times for us and is still settling in. So proud that I don't follow a team where we forget that.

| If you look at him next to moz he is bigger, much bigger yet he runs like a girl..
See his attempt from dummy half by their try line? It looked like it was a slow motion replay

yes i said exactly the same thing, far too slow and doesnt carry the ball like he means it, just trundles it like he cant be d. Also thought Briers had a shocker but that may have been down to others not suppling him with the correct pass at the correct time

| all we need is someone to wind him up to the point of him making an offensive hand gesture followed by a public apology and then we've got 3 years of fantastic memories to be had
chavs: wind him up
trent: get your hand ready!

| SL is different to the NRL. Give him chance to adapt to us as a team and the game over here and he won't be a bad signing IMO.

Love the optimism and hoping history repeats but King was a player blessed with an abundance of class on a bad run at the time but at least he showed promise. Waterhouse has shown none of that and was very poor today - and to think we rested him and made Westwood (who gave it everything today) toil it our against Widnes.

Early doors King showed next to nothing at all amd he was frankly awful in a lot of games. I'm not so much hoping history repeats itself (nice though that would be!) but making the point that it presumably takes time to move 9,000 miles away from home and settle into a new job, area and country. To the extent that people are writing the bloke off (and I accept that most, including you, are not) they should remember that. The fact he gets well paid is of no real consequence - it can still take time.

| Yes and Louis Anderson who people are now saying shouldn't have been replaced by Waterhouse, took a long time to settle himself, in 2008 he didn't offer much, it was second half of 2009 and 2010 when he started to come into form.
Credit to Hicks, Joel Monaghan and Brett Hodgson who were top class from the moment they got off the plane.

If that's the case then why is he first pick in the 2nd row?
I say it's because he's an Aussie and we can't possibly pay ££ for someone to come over and then not play him.
Why is it that when we sell an overseas player, we MUST buy another. We should save the cash and get someone British!

Why? Does their passport make them better players or something? Why does nationality even bother you?
FWIW, I said earlier on in this thread that he hasn't wowed me in attack. Maybe we should move him to front row and keep Grix at left second row? Either way, he's easily handled by the opposition in attack.

I don't know, I don't pick the team. I can only assume that Tony Smith thinks he's the best option to play there.
Speaking of Smith; he sanctioned the purchase of Myler for a 6 figure sum. He then dropped him, mercilessly, for the Challenge Cup final. If you think he would play Waterhouse purely on the basis of his nationality and salary then you're clueless. If he's as bad as you say he is (and he's not, clearly) then at worst he's playing him to give him the chance to settle in.

| Yesterday was Waterhouse's first bad game for me. He comes in for criticism because he is an easy target for it IMO (Big name in Australia who is expected to set the house on fire, always looks tired). His defence has been great so far, but yesterday he just seemed off the pace a bit, being left behind the PTB when he made a tackle, but it's one bad game.
Yesterday's game doesn't make him a bad player, even the best players have off days, this was his first.
