Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller.": |

Quite a few people here seem to enjoy reading novels. But how many have ever read a novel that has a rugby league background and is set in a fictional town set five miles north of Warrington.
Details of my four novels which are all inspired by being a Rugby League fan and the old saying about work "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller" are given on my web site www.geofflee.net
And what am I reading? Have just started on "The Death of Marco Pantani" The Italian racing cyclist.

| ...on the other hand
for any posters on here with youngsters who are having trouble sleeping, I can whole-heartedly recommend Iestyn Harris' autobiography...just a couple of pages, and the little mites will be in the land of nod.

Other than that I read alot of political books and autobiographies (Clinton, Powell, Blair, Campbell, Brown). Sports aswell.

| Quote: sally cinnamon "The book I always recommend is Birdsong by Sebastien Faulk. I don't read much fiction but I picked this up while travelling in a book swap thing in a hostel and I thought it was fantastic, very powerful and haunting storyline based around the trenches of World War I'"
Birdsong is one of the best I've ever read, an absolute masterpiece. Another classic set during WWI is Ernest Hemingway's 'A Farewell to Arms'.
Can recommend the last book I read as well for a piece of non-fiction. 'Gomorrah' by Roberto Saviano, which is about the extraordinary power and influence exerted by the Neopolitan Mafia.
Favourite novel of all time would probably be 'A Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel García Márquez.

Thanks to SLIMply a treble for pointing out that the link does not work. My web site is actually www.geofflee.net The one I had put on was pure fiction.

| What am I reading now? Harry Potter.
What should you read? Harry Potter.
What is my favourite book? Harry Potter.
As you can tell, I'm not much of a reader. The 7 Harry Potter books are the only fiction stuff I've read. Aside from that it's just autobiographys of people I like.

That's not a bad start. May I suggest Matthew Reilly as an author you might enjoy? A slight step up from JK, but not too much. Imagine James Bond could fly, travel through time, get shot in the head fifteen times and still save the world.
Not classics, but bloody brilliant non the less.
