Stopping the derbies... Error
Edinburgh is a trek and not that great a city IMO. Like many people though, I've been saying I'm not going for the last 12 months, but I know come Friday, plans will be in place to go one way or another.'"
You are spot on!
Should have been kept in south wales where it was doing really well. Cardiff is the perfect city for this and also has the perfect stadium. Not to mention they moved it the very same year we got a team from wouth wales in super league! Idiots!
The derbies should have been kept. I was pretty excited about watching Hull v KR 2 years ago but last year, Bradford and Wakey, Quins v Salford.... I didn't really care. We are pretty lucky this year, it is still a massive game for us, but for some fans I don't think they are getting a top game.
The derbies attracts more fans, and will also keep more people in the stadium for longer. It makes a much better atmopshere as well.
I like the idea of having it at Eastlands but I think that would be better for a challenge cup semi-final double header, so I would move it back to south wales and bring back derbies!
The event last year was embarrasing for our sport, this year it will be even worse. The RFL don't have a clue. Even the wire fans can see it

| I don't think we should scrap these weekends!!! We need to give Cardiff a second chance and then those people who keep banging on about not going Edinburgh because it's not as good as Cardiff can go!!! I think Cardiff has everything including the right location.
Go back to Cardiff bring back derbies or make the games big ones!! E.g. Leeds v St's Us v Wigan Hull v Hull kr etc etc

| I'll just go wherever it is, whether it's a start of season weekend in Manchester/Newcastle/London, or whether it's as it is now. The only place I probably wouldn't go is Dublin, and that's only because you have to take out a mortgage every time you buy a beer.

Sums it up perfectly, I have been to the other 3, not going this year as I wasn't impressed with it in Edinburgh last year. If it was moved back to Cardiff I would be there in a flash but I am in no rush to go back to it as it stands.

Just for one weekend say if you score over 40 points you get a extra point,so if you win and score over 40 you get 3 points instead off two.Even if lose but still score 40 you get a point. If the Rfl are adamant in moving around the British Isle then and Football grounds would need to be used when the football season has finished. You see manure letting a rugby league team use they pitch then the week later they have a title decided, which if they lose we all know who Fergie would blame it on.'"
Carlsberg don't do bad ideas, but if they did they'd be as bad a this one....

| I would have put the following games;
Saturday
Bradford vs Wakefield
Catalans vs Harlequins
Hull KR vs Hull FC
Warrington vs Wigan
Sunday
Crusaders vs Salford
Castleford vs Huddersfield
Leeds vs Saints
A mix of big games and derbies

| The Magic weekend should be scrapped and 1 extra team should be added to super league.
A heartland team not a part of the country that has no interest like London or wales or Scotland or Ireland and not another froggie team either

I've not even read your link but it's pretty obvious why.
In fact I was about to make a post while reading this thread suggesting the teams would prefer random fixtures, well, most teams.

Noo,
the magic weekend should be kept as the last 16 of the cup, THEN add one more team, probably from the heartlands i.e. Widnes

| Well I shall be going this weekend and am really looking forward to it. I've never been to a magic weekend before so fortunately will not have anything to compare it with. For me its not just about the rugby it's the banter with the other fans and having the opportunity of watching the teams we love to hate but that we secretly admire too.

| Im extremely happy playing Salford, much better chance of getting the two points and moving top, rather than playing, say, Wigan and losing and them increasing the lead. Go back to derbys. Wigan Vs Sts, Wire Vs Salford

| Possible places to play
Newcastle (good night out)
Emirates (Islington Angel decent night out, good stadium helps bring it to Landon and the media types)
Millennium Stadium (Cardiff and Wales like their rugby, plus bad weather aversion with the roof)
Dublin (personally don't see the point)
Twickenham (waits for abuse) could help out Quins
Edinburgh (nice city but no one seems to be interested)
Not Wembley or Old Trafford for obvious reasons
Villa Park (whose to say the midlands wouldn't be a good idea)
Paris (If Ireland is being talked about why not the capital of a country that actually have teams playing in our comp)
Thoughts ?

| If the Welsh tourist board/RFU wouldn't advertise/support it then why keep it there. 90% of locals had no idea what was going on, that's why it was moved.
Derbies would be good for supporters but in fairness of the game/league, seeded games are to be preferred (indeed by clubs).
Don't think Edinburgh is the right place for it, unfortunately. I would suggest (in this order):
Newcastle (representatives were there last year, but as Newcastle United are back in Premier league I doubt it'll happen).
Villa Park (unexplored territory which should be looked into. Big city so plenty of accommodation).
City of Man.. (heartland, good way to open season, begin and end in cosmopolitan manchester. However if Oasis couldn't get to play there, 7 game of Rugby league...).
