From what I've seen and despite Sally's comment on another thread, we look like we have some more than decent prospects. yesterday, the younger lads in the forwards didn't get bullied, no one looked out of place/depth and with any preseason friendly there are interchanges galore and it didn't affect style and rythym of our play. I thought that Jordan Burke had a good game caught one or two tricky high balls and linked in with the line well.

I think you'll find that it was the idiot England causing the problems mate. He's going to get smashed to bits using those tactics in SL. Nothing but a school playground bully.

Whilst England was a little petulant at the scrum it was good to see that he was not going to let people either bully or intimidate him. That run out will do England the world of good in getting him game time to find his feet.

I think if Mr England starts mixing it against Salford he will soon come down to earth with a bump.

Impressed with Dwyer ,Burke and GOB. G.Riley and England were good but as others have said England will need to cut out the poor discipline. GOB controlled things well but Dwyer shone for me.

Fully agree about young Dwyer. He is a hand full and looks like a very good prospect.

This thing about Anthony England...Im a Fev fan & obviously didn't see the game so can't comment on that but there is definitely some history with Leigh and the clown who describes him as a playground bully is presumably a Leigh fan with his own prejudices, as anyone who has followed England's career knows he's nothing like that.

In two seasons with Fev I can only recall England being involved in about four incidents where he was potentially in trouble, but at least two and perhaps three of them involved Leigh. In particular, there was one incident in the play-off semi between Fev & Leigh of 2012 when shortly before the ened of the game and with Fev in control, Leigh's Kevin Henderson stiff-armed Fev's Kyle Briggs. It was an appalling tackle (to the extent that Henderson's brother Andrew, who was the analyst on Premier Sports, admitted he couldn't defend it, saying, "I know he's my brother, but..."icon_wink.gif. England came charging in and appeared to throw a punch at Henderson - although he was not charged after the incident, he was out of order charging in as he did and probably got lucky with the video evidence being inconclusive. Henderson was red carded for the tackle.

There have been two other incidents v Leigh where England was put on report but he was cleared on both occasions. However, one of the Leigh players (I think it was Ridyard, though might have been Brierley) made it clear he didn't like England whilst commentating on the Leigh/Fev game next year. The only other incident I can recall England being involved in was when he was sent off in the last minute at Hunslet in 2012 after being involved in a very brief exchange of punches.

I am sure the coaching staff will be working on him in terms of not allowing himself to be wound up -was Jamie Acton packing down against him in the scrums by any chance? - but he certainly wasn't anything like a "penalty machine" at Fev and anyone will tell you he's a gentleman off the field. He's an aggressive player but the playground bully nonsense is just ignorant.

Yes I am a Leigh fan. Not a clown thats another Leyther. England was at it with two players that he has never played against in a Leigh shirt so who has the problem. He was very lucky with the results of the diciplinary board in my opinion but hey ho we will see how he gets on.
