Riley raked the ball out. Or rather, he had hold of it when their guy tried to get up and the ball came loose and as Riley was the "Last man back" and was holding him down, he got 10 Minutes in the bin.
Spoke to him briefly after the game, he said he had no idea what happened, said he tackled him, went to stand up and the ball was loose and the officials saw it as a professional foul. He did add at the end that he enjoyed the 10 minutes rest in the bin.
I'm assuming the reason Hodgson didn't get Binned for a similar tackle was because the ball wasn't deemed "Stolen" like it was for Riley.

i thought he had been sent off to get cream on too, in a similar vain to a blood bin sub but they only had Mitchell to replace him who also has similar hair and skin issues

The only difference I could put between the Riley decision and the Gilmour decision was the field position that each team had, Hudds were in our 20 and we were definitely on the back foot, whereas Hicks was only around the half-way line.
I don't know if this affected Smith's decision making or what. Some odd decisions yesterday, this is what we have come to expect.

I do worry for James graham in these conditions he's the whitest individual I have ever seen (well except for 'whitey' off "me myself and Irene"icon_wink.gif |

He is so white he is translucent! I wonder if Smithy checks for "changes in mole appearance or size" after every game? Is it itchy? |
