| Between the 2 of them, they're responsible for an awful lot of absolute rubbish.

| Saints away in the cup in 2007, a fella stood in front of me (another poster's Grandfather, incidentally) announced that he felt Rah was our worst ever signing. I said that I wouldn't say worst [iever[/i, to which he replied with a challenge of naming who I felt [iwas[/i our worst ever signing. Standing there, off the top of my head, with a bit of an audience, I said "Rodwell".
Shite story, but his name is usually the first that comes to my head on discussions such as this. My age and lack of experience may go against me here, but I'm going for Rodwell.

Rubbish. Never going to set the world alight and would never had made it in a top team but he did a job for us when he came back.
Im sure I have a meory of Felton praacticing catching bombs in a warm up against Wigan and dropping several of them. He was crap.

he was anonymous, distinctly average in every game he played. Some rubbish players always have 'a game' where they shone e.g. Rauhihi Leeds but Wainwright stole a wage never had a game were he stood out. He's a local lad granted but that doesn't excuse him

Load of crap that mate.
We re-signed him after barely escaping relegation and he did a great job for us. Tireless worker and fully committed. Never going to set the world on fire but would never let you down.
I can only assume you never saw Andy Currier, Leroy Rivett, Leon Felton, Dallas Mead, Craig Tietzel, Mateaki Maffe, Paul Rauhihi, Stuart Reardon. All of whom have proven to be far worse signings than Mike Wainwright.

| Wainwright 'did' Scully a few times at the HJ, I seem to recall. His link up play down the left chanell with Nat Wood was a valuable attacking asset and, as said, he was a tireless worker. I have a lot of time for Wedge, actually, and think that a lot of the stick he took was unwarranted and unjust.

Legends in the Steve Anderson era...so many players to forget...
So I'd have to nominate Steve Anderson..possibly the worst coach of all time....
I did look at the squad that year and it included stars such as
Tom O'Reilly
Kevin Crouthers
Steve Madden
David Kidwell
Leon Felton
Matt Rodwell
Matt Sturm
Doc Murray
Anthony Swann
Paul Marquet
Jon Hill
Dean Hanger
Dale Cardoza
Mike Watts
Craig McDowell
Mike Callon
old reports are on www.odeaok.fsnet.co.uk if you want to relive the nightmare - those were dark days

| Kevin Walters, cracking plyer in his prime but we signed him about 10 years after that.
Also the fella who was on gladiators, I forget his name.

| Why do people always say Dallas Meade on these threads? He played a few minutes and got a career ending injury. Does that make him a bad player? I have been watching for nearly 40 years and need more than 20 minutes of play to decide he waa rubbish
Anyway my vote is for Mike Sullivan, not really his fault, signed as a half back. Oh dear. Not bad hooker mind.
