I would prefer playing Widnes at home with 2500 Widnes fans there or 1500 from Leigh than 30 that Quinns bring or the 150 that Wakey and Cas bring and God knows how many Celtic fans will turn up 10 - 50 I would imagine .
'"
A bit rich from somebody who doesn't go to away games due to re-cuperating from sitting on your backside all the previous evening.

| Think Celtic should have one but not this time round, maybe next time when the licences are up for review again (correct me if im wrong but i think that is in 3 years). Leigh and certainly Widnes should be in IMO. Like a few people have posted, I also am not surprised by the decisions.

If they did do that, they might have to expand the salary cap to allow more players in the squad for more games in the season.

Still better supported than Quinns ,Any team that has not been in SL has not got the financial clout to complete a stadium ,lets face it Salford would be out of Business now if they had failed to get a licence it was a gamble that paid off.
Wakey and Cas should have already been in there stadiums by now and there Franchises should be on elastic and if they are not in and playing at new stadia before 2011 they should lose their licence .

Completely different given the fact that Rugby League is one of, if not, Australia's biggest sport. Whereas, it's way down the pecking order here in the UK.
Thats why I'm not for this expansion nonsense. Couldn't even get Quins to exceed the 3,000 barrier at the weekend.

Being self-employed you are at liberty to arrange your working hours around kick-off times etc. so I don't see your point.
However the point being that you was de-riding the crudentials of certain clubs because they do not bring thousands of away fans to games at the H&J yet by admission you do not go to away games yourself. Surely even you can see an element of glass houses and stones in what you say.
If a club has to rely upon away fans paying at the gates to survive then I suggest they themselves are not worthy of a licence.

| in my opinion i dont think salford should be in there at all. i dont feel they brought anything to super league the last time they were there, admittedly neither did widnes or leigh. but i feel widnes' setup is far superior to that of salford, leigh, Celts. even cas and wakey for me could have been replaced by widnes..
a lot of talk has been about how poor grounds are, but if it went purely on ground quality then Saints, cas, wakey, celts, salford... none of these would have a license so there are many factors why i feel widnes have been hard done to
Well done to Celtic as the development they have made in 3 years is phenomenal. may be 3 years too soon for them but only time will tell

from RFL Site
Despite previous relegations from Super League the club has a long history of financial stability. The club’s commercial and marketing plans appear well developed and will allow them to make use of a new stadium and access to the Salford and Manchester conurbations.
So would suggest not

Agreed. However at the end of the day its not all about stadia.
