| Quote: Smiffy27 "I think the Sunday games were great. I'd guess that Tony Smith didn't relish playing Sunday and then Thursday on Sky. He was very keen on his rest periods. When Sky started moving fixtures to Thursday (at late notice) it was perhaps too much for him. If I was taking kids to a match I'd much prefer an afternoon match.'"
Sundays are awful. sunday is the day for doing your odd jobs, garden etc. you end up having a pint, getting a taste for it then have to go home as it's work in the morning.
Friday night all the way. Finish work, home and a quick bite to eat, changed and straight to the pub. can have a good session, watch the match, good craic with your mates and then you've got the weekend to yourself.

| Maybe a mixture of Friday/Sat/Sunday is what is required. There is more to it than just turn around times.

Shaun Wane was the opposite in his theory.
Enough said.

I'm getting the message that a pint or two is very important to you.

Very. I work hard all week and a friday night watching the rugby with a beer is quite deserved. As is the case with the vast majority of people, which is why there was a vote and friday nights won.

The vote must have passed me by. I'm all for keeping the majority happy. Some clubs still seem to have Sunday games. Presumably they don't like their beer so much in Castleford???

| Nothing better marching with the hoards on a Sunday afternoon across bridge foot, over Wilderspool Causeway with a couple of lagers in your belly.

| Friday nights tv games used to be special, sunday was the day, and if you got picked for friday tv games it was (indirectly) a big thing.
too much of a good thing spoils it.

| With various commitments I can justify going on a Friday evening but Sunday is a wash out have to leave about 1.30 and back by 6.30 with “fretting time” beforehand.

I also must have missed this vote, but I've only been a season ticket holder since 1967. I think it must have been held in secret on a Friday night in some pub full of single people with no young children they wanted to take to the match.
I can think of two occassions in the last few years, when supporters have not even been able to get across to Hull on a Friday night for the game, due to traffic and weather.

So when was the vote done and how?

| I've no idea. I keep hearing that there was a vote taken, but I have never seen any evidence of the vote? I haven't been told of any date or details of who voted or what the split for Friday or Sunday was. I'm a bit sceptical if the vote ever took place.

I think it was part of the online 'Hardwired' questionnaires that Roger Draper produced a few years back, from memory I'm sure the results/findings were published, but cant seem to find any trace of them now.
