| I thought a full week for concusion and with a sky date on Thursday, no Gidley!
I have a feeling Salford my well be a very tricky fixture.

As far as pattern goes it was similar to HKR game for me, an early score, some decent play interrupted by long periods of scrappy stuff meant that we never really got going, although credit to Wakefield they certainly stuck with it without threatening to turn us over.
Enjoying watching Sandow and Gidley, if is he's out on Thursday, Salford will be all the trickier for his organisation

| Lots of handling errors from both teams. The game was a very stop and start affair with Silverwood not helping with his love of playing many tunes on his whistle. I am sure he makes it up as he goes along.

| Think it's worth pointing out that Wakefield only had a five day turn around. Not suggesting we'd have won it with longer but it can't have helped us any - might have been a little tighter. Either way it was way better than last years 82 point stuffing
Still we get 9 days before we play Catalan, a game we really need to win

| A commendable performance by Wakefield, they looked lively in attack and we scored some nice tries. Too many errors from both sides and too many penalties.
It was clearly evident that when Gidley went off we lost all kinds of cohesion. He is already a very important cog in our machine. Liked the straight and dynamic running from Cox. Curate egg of a game really, don't think the score reflected the game at all. We will get better as people bed in. When they announced the Warrington team I thought that is s really good team with players to come back as well things are looking good for the season ahead.
Good luck to Wakey for the season.

I think the PA announcement was 10,600, which was pretty good given the ( justified ) low turn-out from Wakey fans.

| As a Wakefield fan I thought it was a pretty even game but the difference between the teams was sandow and gidley who were a class above.
I thought the ref was pickey which didn't help the flow of the game.
Thought atkins had a bit of a stinker but I would gladly have him back if you guys want rid.

I was pleasantly surprised with Wakefield's effort after a slow start they showed plenty of effort and spirit opening us up a few times, they showed a few nice touches scoring good tries if you can stay clear of serious injuries a decent season beckons, both teams have improvement in them and they will have to as on the night it was not the most fluent of games.
Atkins as on another thread tends to split opinion it's early so I'm prepared to give him time to recover his form, Atkins must realise there is pressure on him to retain his place so it will be up to him to keep it, he's quite durable, strong tending to be more of a finisher rather than a creative centre.
The young lad we signed from Trinity Will Daggers is he a centre in the making? I will watch his progress with interest as from your board last year he was highly thought of.

| Dagger is a fullback/ winger but long term injuries to Stanway (last years 7) and Moore (last years 9) has led to enforced shuffling of positions.
