I like Ormsby and he is only young, I think he missed Joel beside him and that showed with his performance but it is one bad game and he will learn from it!

Never blamed him at all. However his defence is as bad as Riley and imo is not as good a finisher.

Leave the lad alone was some shocking passes to hom today, even mr tickle would have had a job catching those.

I agree he did have some bad passes to him but he seems a bit laboured. He struggled to catch sammut.

The same people slagging off Penny are probably the same slagging off Ormsby..

I was directly in-line with the 3 passes that Gene was fed in the 1st half, they were poor passes leaving Gene little hope, 2 of them were well forward.

Can't blame Ormsby for the rubbish thrown his way today. Not a world beater but could grow into something half decent given the chance.

i wont be slating ormsby, as he is a young lad with alot to learn.. But if im being honest I think he probably just plugging a gap until someone better comes along...

Positioning was nothing to do with the 2 forward passes. But as MD correctly says Gene is 'a young lad with a lot to learn'.

We need to remind ourselves that prior to March this year, I and others on this board hadn't really heard of Gene. I feel a Cad & traitor to Chris in saying this but I prefer Gene to Riles.

In the sprit of sheer devilment, curiosity (and Sunday evening boredom), can I ask why?

Try scoring record? Riley has the better
Kick returns? I'd say Riley is safer and makes equal if not more yardage
Ball security? I'd say Riley is slightly more reliable under the high ball (though they are both suspect)
Pace? Riley
Bravery? Equal
Strength? Ormsby
Defence? Probably Ormsby

Other than the colour of his hair, dubious facial fluff and eternal damnation for perceived poor positional sense I struggle a little to see why people thing Ormsby looks a better prospect than Riles.

Personally, I'd like Penny to get the a run and judge all three equally, but I'm not convinced any are good enough long term.

The pass from Laithwaite was superb and Ormsby should have caught it and scored. The other passes from Bridge were shocking and a mile forward - no blame on Ormsby there.
