Indeed! :/

I think we should have picked Wigan! They'll be harder to beat in the final than they would be next Friday at our home stadium.

Except that we'll have to beat Saints, at Saints first.

Whoever you picked, it was going to be a tough game. You always pick the lowest ranked team, I guarantee it. If you pick anyone else, you risk getting a ridiculous amount of egg on your face.

Regardless of whatever spiel your captain and chairman came out with tonight, they were going to pick the lowest ranked side.

I'd have gone for Wigan to, they look on the ropes and with a 5 day turnaround for them they seem the easiest to play atm. I expect Saints to be in the final and are the only team i'm really bothered about.

Taking off my P & B glasses, I still think Wire are and must be clear favourites.

If we approach this game with our minds focussed on O/T then Leeds WILL beat us, they have proven top quality players and they know what is needed and have played the pressure games many times before.

Also looks like the weather will be good.

<< He has no worries.

Me neither, got to beat two teams to win competition, whatever order we do it so be it.
Confident in beating Leeds so lets see how we do.

Suppose 3 or 4 Wigan players were carried off or left the field injured, similar to what happened to us against Wakey a few weeks ago. It would have been very tempting for Tony and the chairman to pick them.

Smith will have a headache picking the team if everyone is fit.

The week off should of done us well and we have had plenty of rest in recent weeks as well.

We couldn't of had a more perfect prep.

Leeds laying on half price coaches so hopefully they will bring a few over.

Can't wait.

Excellent, well done Leeds!

The HJ is going to be rocking on Friday night, the nerves are setting in already.

Can't wait!

Leeds was the right choice IMO. No matter how Wigan are playing, its a derby game and teams will get themselves up for them games. Warrington would still have beaten them, but Leeds is the best choice. Went to the Galpharm on Friday night and Leeds looked vulnerable in defence. Their support play impressive on Friday night and Leeds are a threat when they perform, but are far too inconsistent this season. Without Buderus and Sinfield, they're not much.

Wire should be at Old Trafford on the 8th October, but their minds can't be set on that. If they focus their mind firmly on the play-off game, they'll win by about 16-22.

Looking forward to the game.

Why people think Saints and Wigan will batter each other senseless gets me, yes i know they usually do but here's the thing for me.

Saints beat Wigan in the first playoff with Wigan in a lull period, then Saints have a week off in which Wigan play Catalans and are singing 'sweet chariot' at every opportunity because they were knackered.

Saints will win it easily, it'll be blood and thunder for 30 minutes after that a walk in the park for Saints.

Its a Derby match though with alot on the line

To be honest we shouldn't be bothered about anyone, we have the best team this year and just need to keep that up for two more games!

As long as we get to Old Trafford I don't who its against nor how easy/hard its been for them.

Not too bothered who wins as long as we do, it's win win if we beat Leeds

Beat Wigan and it's bragging rights for a year, beat Saints and it's a massive F U for all those years they smashed us and it will heal the Sean Long drop goal wounds.

I don't understand the "Saints and Wigan will beat each other up" argument either. It's a do or die semi with the Grand Final at stake. Name one top team that's going to take it easy!

I really don't think Saints and Wigan matter now that we have picked Leeds. Leeds are going to give it all and we will have to play at our best to win on Friday.

There are players in the Leeds team who have played and won four grand finals, so if we take our eyes off them for a moment the whole season will have been for nothing. They were the right choice though, and their defence is very vulnerable out wide.
