All going very well in my opinion. Compared to where we were at the end of last season/start of this everyone appears to be improving as individuals and massive improvements as a team.

I would think that if we made the play offs from where we are now then we would all be happy. '"

If we make the playoffs from where we are now, then I'm sure we'll be the team that nobody wants to play.

we are for sure makeing progress now but what gets me is that we have had yet another season wasted.

we seem to make progress then back down again and so on. just hope this time were on our way coz i cant be doing with another preseason of false hype.

Quote: getdownmonkeyman "
The World Cup was a major disappointment, but I would like to think Smith learnt a hell of a lot about bringing warious factions together, I would go as far to say I will stand us, as a club in good stead.'"

I never understood how so many people drew so many conclusions about Tony Smith as a coach from the World Cup, which is basically four games. He can do it at club level but not at international level.....he let the Leeds and Saints players divide into factions....his selection was poor choosing the same old tried and tested faces. Why then is it not reasonable to draw conclusions about Smith as a coach over TEN games at Warrington?

His record, lets be honest, at Warrington, is hardly ripping up trees, with recent defeats to Salford, Castleford, Hull KR...? Could it be that Smith can't solve the divided dressing room problems at the club, and that there is a split between the Aussie players and the British players? Is it that Smith is a good coach at a Yorkshire club, but he can't transfer it to a Lancashire club (he wouldn't be the first - Noble has struggled with the same transition).

If Smith's such a good coach I'll challenge him to this. Give me a week in camp with the Kangaroos and give him a week with his England team and I reckon my boys can beat him in a one off Test. Smith will get his team selection and tactics wrong but I won't, I'll show the 'Roos a few videos of England performances and I'll pick their weaknesses out wide apart, we'll rip them up in the outside backs.

You are preaching to the converted, I can't see us getting remotely close to the Australians, or NZ for that matter. Aus could go into a Test series without a coach and still win.

Ive said previously that Tony Smith will need a minimum of 3 years to shape his own team, their will be players that are under contract who he may want to release but his hands could be tied for a while.

Ive seen progress already, i expect a lot more ups and downs before we become a team thats a force on the field and not on paper like its been in the past.

I believe, given the time to change things we will things at Warrington. You can see now some of our handling has improved and like likes of King, Monaghan, Briers etc are playing as well as the ever have or in LB's case in a long time. Smith has a nice likeable approach and the fans can see what he is doing and the majority understand that it takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day (but Tony Smith was not on that job)

Even though you may well be right, and by no means a slight on your post, I am sick and tired of newly unfurled 3 year plans.

From what I am hearing about the changes in coaching of the under 18's and under 21's is true, and looking at their results then I am more than happy with Smiths first few months in charge. From what I have heard there are players in those teams that have real potential who are being coached to realise that potential. It wouldnt suprise me to see a new face in the team against Featherstone.

I think his biggest challenge is the first team and buying himself enough time to allow the transition to be made without supporters getting on his back. . There has been a massive improvement in player performance and he looks to have given a number of players a lot of confidence,

Balls to it, get shut. His win/loss ratio is no better than Cullen's.

Technically it is, I reckon we should stick hold of him.

It's good going in the right direction. Long way to go still though, hopefully we can put a decent run together and snatch a place in the play-offs.
