| Real shame they can’t find some decent backing as they sign well and punch well above their weight.
Nene Macdonald for sale?!?

Wouldn’t say no to him but would be happier to give Lindop more game time. And so long as they don’t try to sell Chris Hill to us.

| How much of a difference will a giant billboard over the M60 make? Even if that bumped attendances by an astonishing 10% (which it clearly won't) that would only be an extra 500 people through the gates. That's nothing in financial terms.
It's a shame, but without a big-time investor they're doomed.

| Not been there in a while is the land all around it still not been developed. It could have attracted more people and it also needs better access in and out, have heard the horror stories of people try to get away after a game. All the little things help to add up to poor attendance etc.
Also as it come to late with the council now taking full ownership. I hope they can get it sorted but you just can’t keep going back to the well.

| Just over the bridge is Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Sale. I worked these areas for years after Salford moved to the new stadium and never did you see any advertisement for Salford, nothing in the schools, nothing in the local papers, it's an area prime for rugby league to be promoted. I took a colleague who lives in Urmston to a match at Salford and they loved it, so much so they are now season ticket holders along with her two sons and husband, so it can work. Salford definately need to speculate to accumulate.

I want to see Salford survive and I hope some sort of arrangement can be agreed. However, signing players when they knew about these cashflow problems, and then going to the other clubs and asking them to sanction an advance is taking the Mickey somewhat.

It’s maybe why the other clubs have gone away to think about it and delayed the decision.

| I think Salford would find a fat investment and blue chip sponsors if they rebranded as Manchester.
Salford is always going to be that scruffy little cousin down the road to Manchester.

| The location of their stadium is a major issue in getting people through the turnstiles. It's just too much trouble parking, getting to and from etc. Compare that to the HJ, especially on a Saturday afternoon when fans pack the nearby town centre pubs and eating places. Thank God we didn't go for the out of town option in 2002 with the horrific Limekiln plan.

| Yes, the club was talking about a site on the edge of the old Burtonwood airfield as close to St Helens town centre as Warrington's. Nothing around it, just a massive car park. 99% of speccies would have to drive or take two or more buses. We would have been the new Salford.

That was a bullet dodged.

| We should be incredibly thankful for initially fantastic support from the council and subsequently support from Moran and latterly Middleton.
But the council fostered this growth in the club, land given by Tetley Walkers, Planning Permission for the supermarket and stadium given by the council on the condition Tesco paid for the stadium. Fit out of stadium then paid for by sponsorship through Martin Dawes I think? Look at other deals for council built stadiums and we’ve been very lucky to end up with a facility that is owned by us when you look at Hull FC, Leigh, Salford, Saints etc etc.
