| Yes Dagger released not Livett, which is a shame as I would like to have seen what Dagger could do. Seems to have more raw talent than Johnson but I know he’s from over that way so maybe he wanted a club closer to home and more chance of a first team berth.
I’m sure Livett won’t be heading anywhere with the club knowing the potential he has. Would be different if he’d been on the fringes for years and struggled to hold down a place, but he’s only 20 and is at his hometown club.

| Sorry I did get them mixed up but my point still stands, far too many overseas players filtering into Superleague, should be a maximum of three IMO. I think Leeds and Hull have seven each.
Hull have a combined academy team with HKR and both they and Leeds won't be running reserve teams in 2018.

Don't Wigan have 6 overseas players?

| We wanted to keep Dagger but HKR offered him mega money and we wouldn’t match it, hence why he’s moved over to HKR. He wasn’t released as we received a fee for him.

Yes and it's too many.
Tautai, FPN, Isa, Leuluai, Gelling and Hamlin.
Gelling is now a British citizen and Hamlin has an english mother. Leuluai doesn't count as he was playing over here before they changed the rules.
IMO they should all count.

| Never understood this overseas limit malarkey. If youre british and good enough you'll get in the team regardless of the limit. You'll also improve playing with better players. Sterling at man city is now twice the player he was and Foden made his debut in the week....he'll certainly become a better player for being surrounded by international class than hoofing it to ten other brits under the guidance of allardyce. General principle applies to league as well.

I used to be proud that Warrington were turning their attention to Home-grown talent and last year we had only Gidley and Sims, which I thought was a great achievement at the start of the season.
Then by the end of the season I looked at the quality of Hull, Leeds and Castleford and to a lesser degree Wigan and Saints, and I thought I’d rather be winning things than championing a team with only 2 overseas players. Sad but true. The quality factor is noticeable so we either apply a strict rule that limits any club to only say, TWO players trained in the NRL, or go purely Home-trained if that’s even legal. I know it’s a difficult one to define.

| As a matter of interest ,are the former Anzac stars that have now gone back to playing for the countries of their roots no longer affected by the Aussie quota ?

Not sure how it would affect players like Fifita / Taumalolo as a Quota player, but they would still count as a Non Fed player.
