| quick tangent, aside from your well known favoritism for drew Rob, how did you think he played yesterday, like clarke he played a bit of the game in both positions.

| Sean Long??? Will people stop it, your frightening me. Long is passed it, yes Johns was older but Long isnt fit to wipe the mud from Johns studs.
Tim Smith -Parramatta
Dobson - Canberra
Matt Orford - Manly
Robinson - Salford
Burrow - Leeds
Of course the likes of Lockyer would be outstanding, just dont see it happening. Kimmorley would be a possibility, seen as though he will clearly be overlooked for the SOO and test jumpers now.
Ideally and my second choice to Johns would be Cooper Cronk from Melbourne, he is Johns in the making. Has an excellent rugby brain, and kicking ability. Plenty of pace and can tackle more than his weight. I do see him though getting a SOO jumper and possibly test jumper this year.

Ppplllllease! Could you find anyone MORE overated? The guy is as overated (yet loved by Stevo-which says it all) as Hock and Mr NRL Chris Thorman.

| captainblindman, good idea about dobson, the only problem would be does he want to come over here and have no chance of any rep football in the future?

| Being realistic, if we are to get an overseas player it will more than likely have to be an understudy player. Thurston, Cronk and Orford will not break a contract to come here, espcially the first two as one is a current test player, the other destined for great things.
The only established player I could see being released is Michael Monaghan as it is no big secret that Manly looked to offload this season. He is now fourth choice halfback so he would probably take a chance on being first pick.
There are some great youngsters in Australia coming through, Mullen, Burns, Soward off the top of my head. I would imagine these would be where we have a greater chance of success with.

He's a little down the pecking order and at an unfashionable team being Canberra. The likes of Thurston, Lockyer, Cronk would all be infront of him at this moment in time. He's young enough to come back to the Uk for another 3seasons and still have age on his side to cut it in the NRL and stive for the test jumper, in my opinion.

| if its from the nrl either thurston, lockyer or dobson
if english burrow,robinson or rooney
i would also bring in henderson at hooker as he wouldn't count on the quota and put clarke in 2nd row or use him as a bench player
