| Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "personally, i'd say the line could be(and we've seen this in the last 2 seasons) me stood in the midst of the southstand complaining about matautia, as part of the throng is just noise.
The absolute weapons that go down to the ad boards 5 minutes before the end of the game so they can shout and yell specificly at individuals after the game, protected by the barrier/stewards is where it crosses the line, its happened way too much in the south stand and away games in 22 and the 2nd half of , and its the same 6-10 people who for the most part are actually quite easily identifiable. i imagine this is repeated in the other stands, or appears to have been, certainly with the incidents in 2022.'"
Yes I would agree that is crossing the line and measures should be taken against the individuals.

Yep. These individuals stop "normal" people attending games. We don't need them.

| Quote: Wires71 "Let me get this straight, the concept being discussed here is that spectators cannot pass negative comments on a player's performance (own team or opposition) in case their parents/guardians/family are in earshot?
Does the same apply for written comments?
What about critique of referee, CEOs, sports commentators etc?'"
Nobody has actually said so and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just discussing that it might be different for a parent as they are much more likely to irritated by such comments, especially when it's personal abuse.

I normally stand in the West stand (when I go) and I can tell you I have heard casual racist and sexist comments on each occasion, not necessarily chants, but localised chatter. "Hit the black ****" or "look at the **ts on that" etc etc.
Obnoxious chanting and foul language is common place. I get that. But there is a particular woman who screeches "rip his effing head off" on a regular basis which gets me down. I don't really want a life with that in it. In truth I find attending games quite unpleasant really. I am uncomfortable physically and psychologically which, when you are bored, is what you seem to concentrate on.
I guess the terraces reflect the current working class social reality.

| My takeaway from that Dudson article is that he was poor, knew he was poor, there were reasons for it, but still he wasn’t good enough despite his best intentions.
I would understand it more if it was a creative player, or where decision making and timing just slightly off by that element of doubt.
But a prop can create their own momentum change by getting the ball and running hard and fast, or by hitting hard in defence.
I’m not condoning abuse, but there were games where he touched the ball 4 times. His job description is to carry the ball and make meters. He needed to do more to get himself out of the rut of poor form, and he didn’t.

Agreed, he was rubbish and I can’t see anyone disagreeing.

| There was a young girl stood near us in the south stand at one game & her outbursts & bad language nearly made me blush not to mention her high pitched ,screeching voice.
As for players not pulling their weight , perhaps there is a certain amount of due diligence that should be carried out before pen is put to paper....scouts ,manager ,director of rugby to see if certain players will fit into the squad & at least try their best.

| Dudson's problems may well explain why he wasn't performing on the day. It doesn't explain why both Powell and Chambers elected to continually select him. Knowing that Burgess wouldn't even hesitate to drop one [iLatrell Mitchell[/i for a drop in form, makes me feel a little better.

| In some respects I am sorry to see him go, when he was 'on' he was a danger and good on the eye, a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately it would seem, his 'on' moments were too infrequent and insufficient to warrant a decent squad spot. I don't know what kind of money he was on, perhaps this was a deciding factor. The biggest surprise for me is the retaining of Dudson, I thought he would be the first to go after last seasons poor efforts. Yes he may have had off field traumas in his life and I sympathise with that but that doesn't prevent you from running straight and hard and we saw precious little of that. This season he has a lot to prove. I hope he proves us all wrong and turns in a great season. Roll on 2024

Maybe he hopes to play through it with another club, where we wanted him to get it sorted/used it as a way to get shut and off the cap.

There was no way that Kasiano was getting a new contract with us.
Leaving early with a pay-off allows him to negotiate a deal with another club that could include the 2025 season too.

The rumour on Duds, is that he was offered a no tie early release, he was alleged to have said to the club, ok, it’s £60k, to which he was basically told to turn up for work on Monday!
