Not if he is out for the season or had to retire because of, for example, a bad wrist injury that requires surgery, which would take him up to the end of his contract. He could still be paid but his salary wouldn't count on the cap once the club had got special dispensation from the RL.

Kasiano out and a new prop in?
Was looking forward to Kas in a fit motivated team, he could have gone really well for us.
Hopefully we've signed a good replacement for him.

I would have have preferred to see Dudson leave.

He offers absolutely nothing while Kasiano has good ball distribution skills. and is a game changer off the bench.

If Burgess can motivate the team as we all hope, then Kasiano would have been asset and it now looks that we are stuck with Dudson for his final season with us.

Hopefully we will be able to loan him out to Widnes, in the Dual Registration deal we have with them.

Difference is Kasiano is taking up a quota spot, which can be quite valuable. Agreed in principle though, in terms of ability and application I would rather see Dudson move on.

'IF' Dudson doesn't move on, expect him to be on dual reg at Widnes unless we get decimated by injuries in the front row. But cover is already being organised with the signing of Max Wood from Wigan's reserves.

Wood is big for his age and looks great on the highlights. But then again, Luis Johnson looked like a world beater at U19 level.
