You can't fault the effort last night & if some of the individual breaks had come off maybe the score line would at least have been more respectable. Unfortunately, the perennial problems let us down, not making enough progress up field on sets of six, losing too much ground when defending sets then getting the ball back in the wrong part of the field & panic play leading to handling errors. This is a culture that has been with us for several seasons now & this is a culture that needs eradicating. It will interesting to see what difference our incoming potential penalty machine props make.
As for this season ,the table doesn't lie.

I'm not standing by and letting a whole load of spoilt brats come on here unchallenged. It's embarrassing to my club.

Let's be honest, we would all take 5th next season. It would represent a massive upturn from where we are now. BUT 5th next year has to come with some signs that better things may be possible for 2024 and good playoff performances.

I want a team capable of beating everybody else if they play to their potential, I want to see better defence and attack, a LOT more composure in attack and defence and most importantly a massive amount more self confidence and confidence in each other, the fragility has to dissappear for us to compete. To get there we will need a tactical kicking game to make sure opposing teams start their sets on the back foot or at least control field position a lot more, a more aggressive defensive line (should be addressed with the new pack), players supporting attacking breaks, desperate to beat the defense up the field to make the most of line break gains and an aggressive defensive line.

If we lose next week he should go, if we survive but aren't looking like a much improved team unit all round after 5 games next season then he should go. I quite like the rebuild job, recruitment looks good but I really don't like the lack of improvement on our frailties week on week.

Are you seriously saying that its self entitled for us to expect to win 2 cc finals, and 3 1st round playoff games against lesser resourced teams? Seriously? Are you seriously making that comparison to the teams some are expecting us to overtake next year as a god given right?

The board and the fans brought Powell in to make the changes. Some players wouldn't play ball so there were more changes.

Do you seriously believe that a newly assembled squad has an expectation to outcompete teams with similar resources, who are already established at the top end of the table, with good coaches and settled players, within such a short time frame. Eventually yes, but it'll take midway through next season, at least, for the additional new players to bed in.

I've got other things to do, like watch Liverpool on the box. Looking forward to witnessing some proper club support.

Gaz it might help if you refrain from answering every post and to similarly all those calling Gaz out let's widen the debate a bit it's a self fulfilling prophecy that things will get over heated when the focus is on one thing/poster. Never said god given right, or anything of the sort. I said that the team was competing with them, has had signing investment to take the club to the next level, so right to expect to compete again. It’s not self entitled, it’s doing the job that he was brought in to do.

The changes have been made, we have a new hand picked squad, conceded 30 points 4 weeks in a row despite not conceding 30 once last year. Tangible regression.

I believe Powell was appointed to take the club forward, in doing so, we should be competing with these teams. Yes. I don’t want to draw comparisons again, but in 2010 after the last bad apple brigade, we finished third. So it can be done.
